A television anime adaptation of Jougi Shiraishi's Majo no Tabitabi (Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina) light novel was announced at the GA Fes 2019 event on Saturday.

Synopsis
Once upon a time, there was a witch named Elaina, who set off on a journey across the world. Along the way, she would meet all kinds of people, from a country full of witches to a giant in love with his own muscles—but with each meeting, Elaina would become a small part of their story, and her own world would get a little bit bigger. The adventure fantasy novel originally debuted as an e-book on Amazon's Kindle service in 2014, but stalled in sales in the beginning. Shiraishi promptly advertised their series on 2channel's VIP bulletin board and successfully attracted a following. SB Creative began printing the novel through its GA Novel label with illustrations by Azure in April 2016 and published the tenth volume on August 9. The 11th volume is planned for a November 15 release (pictured right).

Itsuki Nanao began drawing a manga adaptation on the Manga UP! web magazine last November. Square Enix published the first volume on April 12.

Yen Press and Square Enix licensed the light novel and manga adaptation in English this July, respectively, and plans to ship the first volume of each next year on January 21 and May 12.

Majo no Tabitabi placed ninth and sixth in the tankobon division in 2018 and 2019 editions of the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! rankings, respectively.

First-impression of this is really cool, both the fluid PV and the Key Visual! Of course, HanaKana is a big plus too!

Definitely looking forward to this!

Hmm, dunno what to say about it, but it doesn't look mediocre, so maybe I give it a chance.

Looking forward to this, I really love the Manga.
for those who didn't read the Manga, it has an episodic story where Elaina travels from town to town helping people with problems
also, The MC is a deadpan snarker.

It’s okay to look back at the past, just don’t stare too long

Has anyone read LN or manga far enough? From 3 chapters translated manga (online) it's about Elaina's solo journey from place to place. Are the other two announced characters recurring characters and appear often?

Looks like a gem from the visuals and trailer. Guess I will read the Manga/LN before the anime airs.

I'll try it out, it's just Kino no Tabi with witches.

I remember reading parts of the manga before and heard good things about the novel. Could be a dark horse anime in the future as I also find the premise fascinating.

Hmm it's not tagged as a SoL, but gives SoL-ish vibes. Looks good nonetheless.

Read the first 3 chapters of the manga a while back, should be a nice series and a good substitute for LWA. Also the art and animation looked pretty solid so that's a plus

This looks like something I'll certainly watch because of the witch character + slice of life usually doesn't go wrong.

Yes, they do. And the series is like Kino no Tabi, with the difference that Alaine is more active on interfering.

There will be. Her teacher Fran-sensei and Saya. Further from the light novel there is more character that shows often like Amnesia i think...
