I know that romance isn't the focus of the serie but I know that the female protagonist have feelings for the teacher and he slowly opens his heart for her but they get together at some point? Confession, Kiss, etc? I really want to read but I hate open endings and the story seems finished. If they get together at some point I'm happy.

No, it doesn't. She has feelings for him, but those feelings do not turn into love.

I know this is a late reply, but anyway...
in the last chapter (56.9) it's hinted that something could happen between Kotori and Sensei.
This chapter is set many years after the anime, when Tsumugi is going to College, and Tsumugi herself says "Is this maybe a thing?" referring to Kotori and Sensei. So yeah, even if the romantic development is not shown, it is hinted.

late reply as well but i thought it might be helpful for somebody else. It's actually implied quite a bit that they do end up together at the end of 56.8 after the post script recipe (https://imgur.com/a/duz7h4F). It's also implied in 56.9 since mugi returns home and both kotori and kohei greet her.

I just finished this one myself, and I agree. Kotori and Sensei end up together, but there is no wedding, no kissing, no PDA. The author shows Sensei reaching out and them holding hands. They drop Tsumegi off and pick her up together when she returns from college. Kotori told the high school boy that she was already in love with someone, and nothing in the story ever suggested anything different. She and her Sensei do end up together at the end. But that is not the point of this story, so the mangaka restrained himself and left most of it to our imaginations. Best romance I've ever seen without a kiss or a hug or a confession of love...

*One year later*

The author is definitely a woman. As I've been literally going through her whole catalogue. But as such, she's very much into age gap, so seeing this here is funny but I agree restrained. I was honestly pleased.
