I love the Bungo Stray Dogs series and decided to finally watch the movie last night. I enjoyed the movie but I was very confused about a few things. After a day of thinking and reading up, I think I understand now a lot of things I didn't in my initial viewing, but a few things still confuse me:
What were Dazai's motives to switch teams? I'm still trying to find an answer for it and honestly, I keep getting confused the more I think about it.
How was he revived after his death, and how was Shibusawa brought back from the dead as well?
And lastly, what did Dostoyevski's involvement in the whole ordeal amount to by the end?
I hope I'm not the only one confused about these things. I'm seeing a lot of unanimous praise online for the movie and while I enjoyed it as well, I rarely find other people being as confused as I am.

Actually a lot of people were confused about the movie so don't feel too bad. It was quite a complicated and somewhat convoluted plot that moved rather fast, though. It was an awful of lot of details to pack into 1.5 hours of movie...

Anyway, I'll try to answer your questions. I haven't seen the movie in about a year so apologies if I'm a bit off.

I can't really remember why Dazai went to the enemy side, since it seemed to be part of some convoluted plan?? He was "revived" after his death because of the little pill thing he took at the beginning, though. It was an antidote to the poison that was being used by Fyodor in the apples. He kept this antidote pill in his mouth and had expected Chuuya to come save him later so when Chuuya hit him, the antidote pill would break. It's a stretch of a scenario but that's what happened.

Shibusawa being revived, I theorize, is related to Fyodor's ability that has still yet to be fully explained. Fyodor was using Shibusawa. Fyodor's main objective is that he wishes to wipe out all ability users because he believes their very existence is a sin. It hasn't been explained much in a manga as to why. He is also in Yokohama in search of the same book that Fitzgerald was after in the Guild arc.

I really need to rewatch it since Dazai switching sides left me uncertain, too x.x;
