I really don't feel like sitting through all 110 or so episodes of the anime, after watching an episode here and there of the anime and only making it as far to episode 29. So I'm thinking of reading the manga instead. Did anyone else read the manga? Does it follow along with the novel/anime pretty well? Is it the complete story to the end of the novel/anime?

Kinda late, but maybe it would help someone else decide, I would personally say it's Novel > Anime > Manga

Basically the amount of content you can put in media is the most important factor for this series since it's main aim is IMO not being a space opera but a politic analysis with a mix of space action to spice it up.

It does well to make sure the length is not wasted.

Novel is the most detailed with anime being a great adaptation and manga being a pretty condensed form of the same story.

Novel consists of ~2500 pages IIRC, which is approx half of the 5 books of Game of Thrones for example.
This is ~75 hours worth of content.

Anime is condensed into ~40 hours... and manga kinda depends heavily on your image analysis/art appreciation but is overall shortest by far.

Anime has slightly easier time picturing the scenes which can take a lot of time in Novel though, so be aware anime is not missing much and there are even extras to the animated portion.

But as far as political intrigue goes - novel hands down wins.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
