Nope this is a sequel and i think thats unnecessary the original series holds up pretty well having some solid VA, also Nippon was considered one of the animation studios back in the day. Also some of those talents in that studio is considered legends in the industry Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata and Yoshiyuki Tomino man who created Gundam. Plus many others.....

Hopefully its gets a blue ray touch up so newcomers can watch the show as it been more than 2 decades.

Production I.G is one of the best modern anime studios they done some bad quite notably legend of the galactic heroes remake ..... However they always a sense of polish and quality that comes to they work compared to other studio who usually rushes they animes because of the producers. So I confident they bring justice to the source material

So, remake or continuation?
if it's gonna be a continuation how are they gonna bend back from the anime original final arc? Also the manga's story exceeding the old show wasn't really that good .

And if it's a remake, how long is it gonna be? A two seasons run time isn't gonna be enough though.

yeah I watched it earlier this year in preperation for the new series and enjoyed it :> I wonder if they will continue where it left off, or start after that arc.
