It's really been a while since I last posted on MAL forums! Anyway, I stopped by to create this topic here first so I can prepare for the trip and I also plan on sharing my experience in travelling to Japan together with my mother. We plan on going mid-March and we are staying there for 5 days. Going around the city and we will try to check if we can see the cherry blossoms around that time of the year in Fukuoka.

One of my main concern during this trip would be the travel using trains.

Off with the first question, is anybody here familiar with Hyperdia? It's a website that allows travelers to see which trains should they ride from the one point to their destination. It also shows rates and time of departures too. It's a very convenient website especially for first-time travelers to Japan when you are not really that familiar of the train systems.

I will be using this website during the entire trip for our transfers and I just wanted to know if the ETD of trains and the fares stated on the website are accurate enough for us to rely on, as I am already doing the estimates of our possible expenses for the trip. Thanks alot!

Also if anyone can share any do's and don'ts. Things to expect upon arrival at the airport, immigration. Etiquette, tips on travel and others that would be very helpful!

Hello! I'm currently a junior in high school, and my school offers Japanese as a second language so I've been studying for 3 years now. I've planned my trip to Japan for summer 2021, the summer I graduate. I'm incredibly excited but, I'm also really nervous. This will be my first time traveling on my own and I'm afraid I'm not proficient enough in the language, so I wanted to reach out!
I'll be studying abroad with a program located next to the Shibuya crosswalk (lucky me) and I'd really appreciate any tips! Thank you!
Malicious intent is the only intent. Merry Hannukah
