He had eared some money from the fishing trip and from defending the city, so he should have enough money to buy things left and right. That said, he wasn't sure what he wanted... |
Hotaru Sweetheart  Hearing the ringing of the bell as the door to the store opened Hotaru quickly put the candy into its wrapping --a chocolate cracker of her own making, the right amount of natural sweetness coming from the grinded cacao and just a pinch of salt to balance the flavour -- and turned around to greet her customers with a small bow. "Hello sweeties and welcome to the Sweetest Tooth! Feel free to look around! Should you have any inquiries about anything just call for me and I'll be there faster than you can eat a jelly bean~!" Saying so and seeing her customers look around the store Hotaru went back to her cracker, while at the same time continuing with sorting through some of the shipments that had arrived just a few days ago. Putting them into place and readying the store for any orders that could arrive. It was the opening week after all. "Oh my, I almost forgot... To celebrate the opening of the store, if you buy anything today you get a free sample of whatever candy you desire for free! Now, that's a sweet deal if I've ever heard one~!" Hotaru made a friendly wink as she said so and then again, went back to her work, humming merrily while doing so. |

He always loved travelling in his past life, something about being exposed to a completely different culture just made him feel alive. Everything looked, smelled, even tasted different. It was when he was experiencing a new country or place that his senses fully came to life and he really felt like he was getting the most out of living. This place was no different, perhaps the effect was even more pronounced considering it was a different world altogether. Sara looked around keenly as well, her ears pricking up at sounds as they walked. She stopped before going into the store, sitting down. She internally sighed as Amphion just walked on through. He was oblivious and was distracted by an employee coming up to them and welcoming them to the store. Amphion smiled amiably at the woman, "Thank you very much! Looks like you've got a pretty impressive collection here," he said. Sara took this opportunity to remind him that she was still outside, "Ehm.. Hello? Amphion? Forgetting something?" she communicated to him. Amphion spun around, confused at first. Realisation dawned on his expression as he realised his mistake. He looked at Sara sheepishly, she was sitting outside the store (I'm assuming the door is glass and you can see outside) with her head tilted slightly to the side. He knew that look, the "I can't believe you've done this" yes that was a meme reference and no I have no shame expression she used whenever he was entirely ignorant of something that should have been obvious. He shrugged apologetically and turned around to address the employee again, "Excuse me, miss. Sorry to be a nuisance but is it alright if Sara comes in? She's very well behaved and she absolutely adores liquorice," he said with an apologetic smile, pointing to Sara when he mentioned her. |
Hotaru Sweetheart While sorting out the recent shipments one of Hotaru's customers called for her. At that moment she quickly dropped what she was doing and turned her heel, going straight towards the customer that stood near door. "Absolutely no problem sweety!" Now standing close to him, her face only a few inches away, Hotaru made a sweet smile as looked up at him and then proceeded to open the door. "Anyone with an interest in candy is a welcomed customer here... Especially when you happen to be an adorable little sweetheart like this one!" Having opened the door to let Sara in Hotaru then took a piece of liquorice from her snack-pouch that hung by her hip and proceeded to give it to Sara, if she would let her. Either way, she would give her trademark bright and sugary sweet smile as she returned back to the counter to continue with her own business. |

Then, April offered Geno a ride, which he gladly took. Leaving the Mission Hall on her arms. The ride to the candy store was a rather pleasing one. Yvalia seemed like a really nice and colorful place, as far as he saw, at least. Other than a few weirded out stares, nobody seemed to mind Geno's presence, which was very welcomed by it. Lost in the many colorful buildings to see around it, Geno didn't even notice the store they intended to visit up until April entered with it... And once again, Geno was shocked by what he was seeing, his eyes widened as he saw the huge amount of candies of all sorts of colors and textures. All it could say, was "I didn't even know so many types of candy existed..." mostly to itself. |

Her eyes were sparkling as she had no words for what she was seeing. For her it was like a treasure trove of diamonds. There were glass jars filled with all sorts of candies while some were in their wrappers or out in the open. There was just too much to choose from. So instead of trying to figure out which one of them tasted the best, which would be impossible because then she would have to sample everything; she decided to go after the prettiest candy. However first she would have to decide how to rank up the different sorts. Maybe the only thing that she could stick on was that it had to be a hard candy. How exasperating it was, she thought to herself. Without even realizing, she had a very focused face with her brows furrowed as deep as they could go. |

The purple haired woman came up super close to Amphion's face, almost a little too enthusiastically. Amphion didn't recoil or anything, he simply tried to not display his discomfort at someone invading his personal space like that. He knew some people who did the same thing, though probably not to the same extent. She had a sweet smile though and walked over to let Sara in. She pulled out some liquorice which Sara gladly took, taking it and lying down. She put the liquorice between her paws and went to town, chewing the delicious treat. April came in holding Geno and Amphion walked around, looking at the shelves filled with sweets as Zahrah asked for candy from a specific place. |
Hotaru Sweetheart As the customer with the salmon dye of hair who had been the first to enter the store called for her, Hotaru then promptly went up to her... Actually Hotaru was a bit unsure of her gender. The look of the customer was fairly androgynous, but in her head Hotaru had settled and decided to assume of them as a she. Even if she was wrong, it didn't matter, whether she was a cute girl or a cute boy, they were still an adorable sweetheart to her. "North East Arias, was it, sweetheart? Hmm... " Taking out a pair of glassess hidden near her ample bosom, Hotaru put them on as she furrowed her brow for a moment, seemingly deep in thought, and then, few moments later her face lit up as she then quickly went towards the counter. Specifically to the glass cabinet that was slightly to the right of it, showing a pastry very much akin to tiny glazed hamburgers in various colours. "I have here some very exquisite samples of macarons with brand new flavour combinations, have you heard of macarons before sweety? It's a perfect mix of chewy and crispy made primarily of almond flour and iced sugar and then any flavour you wish to add to it. I recommend the matcha and chocolate flavour if you're into a mix of oriental and western. If not there's more traditional ones: Strawberry, raspberry, any of the berries really! We have packs of 6, 14, and 24. I can make a personal mix for you if you have trouble deciding!" As she was talking she was showing the different types of macarons, taking out a few out of their packages. She puffed her chest with pride as she finished her explanation and then waited for the reply, and any additional questions that may come. Eager to continue to serve. |

Although he had heard of them, he had never tried them, nor did he know they were French. That said, the things looked just adorable, so Zahrah was sold~ “That looks amazing~ I'll go with a 14-pack of various flavours, surprise me!” Having decided on his purchase, he'd look at his companions, April, Geno, Amphion and Sara. “Did you guys find anything yet~ It'll be on me! If the price is within reason, of course~” Zahrah felt generous, and he wanted to buy his way into Amphions heart, considering he should have a fair bit of money left from the entire city invasion thing. |

They had macarons here as well? In his previous life on Earth, he had eaten macarons a few times - and he had enjoyed them very much. He wondered if Gaea's macarons were the same as Earth's. Sara had noticed this as well and her ears perked up, briefly putting her liquorice meal on pause. "Is she talking about macarons like the ones we had back home?" Sara said to Amphion. Amphion inched towards Hotaru and Zahrah as they continued their conversation. Zahrah was already buying a 14-pack of variously flavoured macarons, more importantly, the description Miss Hotaru had given him had perfectly described Earth's macarons as well. "Guess that answers that!" he telepathically communicates to Sara. "Ooooo~ Please get some!" Amphion smiled and looked at Zahrah, "You don't have to buy us anything Zahrah, but I would love to have one or two of your macarons if that would be okay? Sara and I quite like those!" |

After having fixated her eyes on it, there was nothing that could change her mind. While typically you would just take a few or so, she fell in love with them. Picking up the entire jar of the candies. After all she was certain that they would taste good. Holding the jar in her hands like a baby she would ask in a quiet voice: "How much for these..?" Her insecure voice was mostly that she didn't want to make a fuss about it. |
Hotaru Sweetheart  Listening to her cute cotton-candy like customer's request Hotaru began swiftly putting together a diverse menu she knew her customer would absolutely enjoy, so they wouldn't regret coming to her store. If there was anything she was certain of it was her own capabilities when it came to choosing the best quality sweets. She was a Sweetheart through and through; her sense of taste and smell were extremely acute, having passed through her family for generations and now onto her; to say they rival even those of certain hybrid species was not an exaggeration, in fact, when it came to sweets Hotaru herself had acquired an almost otherworldly sixth sense - a sweet sense! "Here I have a mix of western and eastern divided into two rows. The upper one with eastern delicacies: Matcha, anko, cherries, the more typical wagashi treats! The lower is more of a traditional western mix: Raspberries, vanilla, chocolate, honey and more! Placed lastly are a mix of the two, with matcha and chocolate, and matcha and raspberry! I take full responsibility if you don't find them the most delicious macarons you've eaten!" Hotaru said earnestly and passionately as she had finished putting the macaron mix into pink box and then put that into a white plastic bag with a simple font displaying the shop's name. "That'll be 140 Yoki miss!" She'd wait for her cotton-like customer to pay and then hand her the bag. Having addressed the cute lass with hair colored like cotton candy she turned to the red-haired girl who had been very silent the whole time. In fact she seemed even a bit shy as she approached Hotaru for her inquiry. "Aha, mixed konpeitō! An excellent choice! For the whole jar it'll be 110 Yoki sweety!" Hotaru's smile was ever so bright as she addressed each of her customers. As she suspected, with so many eager new customers coming to visit her, the opening of her candy store was truly a welcome addition to Yvalia! |

For as handsome as he was, being the kind of person to say 'no I'm good', in order to ask for you to share your food moments later, was unforgivable. That said, he was pretty handsome... Fine, Zahrah would forgive him, but he wouldn't share his macarons! Instead, he'd just buy a six pack as well. Meanwhile, April had found a jar of candy to claim. Zahrah listened with attention as he got an explanation of the flavours, furthering his decision not to share, as that meant he'd have to miss out on some. “That sounds amazing~” He'd give a look at Amphion, before turning back to Hotaru. “I'd like to add a six pack for the gentleman over there.” Then back to Amphion. “I insist, so just worry about what flavour to pick~” April's choice, with a name that Zahrah wouldn't be able to pronounce for the life of him, could be added to the tab as well. “You can add that to my bill as well~” Zahrah said, after Hotaru mentioned the price. That only left the blob. “Geno, did you decide what you want?” As he asked, Zahrah took out some fresh Yoki bills to cover the costs of both packs of macarons and the candy jar, and he would add the cost of whatever Geno would pick (for as long as it's under 300 Yoki) to that. |

She would only tighten the grip over the jar as her eyes would get soggy and she asked in a quiet and wavering voice: "Are you s-sure?" She closed her eyes and safe guarded the jar with her life. Nothing could get between her priced treasure now. "Thank you." Was all that April managed to muster to articulate before she would start sobbing from the overwhelming happiness that someone would do something like this for her. Inside her little world, these candies were one of the prettiest thing that she had ever seen. |

It was rather nice to have such a lively group of companions. From the innocent beauty of April, to the comforting calm of Amphion, and of course, the never ending energy of Zahrah! If Geno had a face, it sure would shine with happiness. Having lived so little of it until now, even the smallest of details made Geno really happy, and this was no different at all. The small blob would be patiently waiting for its newfound friends near the entrance of the store, lost in the moment. It really took a while for Geno to realize that it was being talked to. After a few moments of not-so-awkward silence, for Geno at least, it reacted: "Me!? U-Um..." was all Geno said initiallly, as it was having the issue of, in one nonexistent hand, it was not used to receiving gifts, so the gesture was still shocking to it. Secondly, the array of choices was still as overwhelming as when it looked at it for the first time, a couple of minutes ago, but still. "Don't panic, she's just offering you candyheh It's not that big of a deal!" was all it thought, but the feeling was still hard to overcome. So, after a brief, yet intense moment of consideration, Geno finally added "...I'll have one of those colorful, squishy looking things, that are coated in white dust. I don't remember their name, but I've heard they're tasty... Sour, but tasty." |
Hotaru Sweetheart Listening to the interaction going on between the gentleman with the adorable dog and the cute pink lady the timid red hair girl suddenly began crying, although Hotaru wasn't quite sure why. Was she hurt anywhere? Had she perhaps eaten too many sweets before coming here? A stomachache was a very serious condition, Hotaru thought, with that going on how could one be sure to enjoy any type of candy? Truly, it was not to be underestimated. To make sure the timid girl cheered up, Hotaru would throw in a little piece of medicine with a very sweet aroma and a taste similar to honey. Having to take your medicine was never pleasant, and although Hotaru didn't have much experience with running a pharmacy, she had been helping with creating some flavours so children would take them easier. It had been a real a hit too! Interrupting her thoughts was a curious little blob that Hotaru had completely overlooked. In fact, hearing it speak took her aback as she took a step backward and looked at it back and forth, her head spinning... It was a blob, a candy blob... And... It spoke. Delusion? No... It was real. A living candy? In her shop? What fortune! Excitement and bewilderment was plastered all over her face, as her cheeks flushed, her eyes sparkled and her pupils were dilating. From her mouth came even a bit of drool, and it was hard for her to hold herself back from immediately jumping all over the blob. In fact her whole body was trembling... No good. Hotaru was acting unsightly in front of her precious customers... But it wasn't her fault! The god of candy had brought her a most unique treat. She had never seen anything like it before... It would be a sin not to accept it... Oh woe is me. Hotaru thought, having to choose between her duties as the owner of her prestigious shop and her desire to discover and eat every type of candy... With such a divine sight what could one do but give in to ones desires? She was lost. Hotaru couldn't think of anything but the delicious black candy blob, wondering what it would taste like... "S-sir... I- I am... Um that is to s-say... I-if you don't mind... U-m... C-can I... M-may... I..." Hotaru was trying to interact with the blob in a way to calm herself down, and politely ask it to let her taste it... Just a little bit... But at the very end she lost her words, and was salivating as she was kneeling down to the blob's height. She was approaching it, closer and closer, her hands stretched out as if to carry him up to her. Hotaru's eyes now almost looked like they had become hearts. Looking at it in a way that could perhaps be called a mix of deep deep crazy love and carnal desire. At first glance one might think Hotaru was madly in love with this blob but the drool on her face... Would make it a very ominous love. What kind of woman would prey on her beloved? Hotaru very well might, if the love of her life... had turned into a talking and delicious looking blob of candy... "I-i...Itadakimasu~..." If the blob or anyone else didn't stop her... Hotaru would completely submit to her instincts and devour this treat... |

Zahrah wasn't quite sure why. Normally, giving candy to kids made them happy, not sad unless you lured them in the van with it. That said, there was little he could do about it, as he wasn't even sure what caused her to cry, so he'd just say “You're welcome~” and focused on the more pressing matter. That was, of course, the blob being targeted by the shopkeeper, after finally deciding what he wanted. Although Zahrah's first instinct hadn't been to eat the blob, but rather to do some other fun things with it, he could still recognize the direction in which Hotaru's reaction was going. The drool also gave him a good clue. That's why he gave her the stereotypical karate-chop on the head (albeit not at his full strength, as splitting her skull in two would be overdoing it), to get some sense in her. “Bad! No eating Geno! You shouldn't just go and try to eat anyone that can talk and think~” If that didn't help, he'd have to hold her back the old-fashioned way by holding her arms behind her back and keeping her out of Geno's range. Either way, he'd follow it up with; “He might look like a delicious piece of gummy candy, but you should at least wait to see if Geno will give his consent to this!” Even someone like Zahrah knew the importance of consent. |

She held the jar in her hands and squeezed it almost hard enough to crack it. But not quite. The cold glass was quickly warmed and April although initially standing, slowly lowered down until she was sitting. She carefully placed the jar in front of her and stared at it. The sun shining into the jar, it was like jewels glittering in a treasure chest. This was the happiest day of her life she thought. For a moment she could stand away from her little birdcage and chains. Just this one moment. She didn't want this happiness to go away. |

Weird enough to be noticeable even by Geno, of all people. The candy master turned from cheery and professional, to extremely excited and creepy. The candy master seemed to have some sort of fixation with it, trying to talk with it while menacingly approaching. Geno had no clue of what to do, or what to say, or even how to feel. The way she moved and looked at it was almost scary for Geno, but it was still mostly confusion on its end. "Um... I'm sorry, buuuut... WHAT!?" Was all Geno answered as it stood still while the shopkeeper made an effort to eat him, as it wasn't even sure what she was trying to do with it. Eating a very confused, unknown blob is not an instinct. How the hell was Geno supposed to know that was what was going on, not at first, at least. If she did manage to get some of Geno into her mouth, Hotaru would feel that pillowy texture you would expect from a marshmallow, with none of the flavor you would expect from one. She would get more of a paper deal out of it... While Geno would add "Um, guys? Amphion stared after her, wondering why her emotions were so uncontrollable and so sudden. Maybe she was bipolar or something? He didn't really know much about bipolar disorder but he had a sneaking suspicion it wasn't like that, nonetheless, he had no answers related to April's strange behaviour. The next thing to happen was Miss Hotaru attempting to eat Geno. Zahrah karate chopped Miss Hotaru over the head to stop her from devouring the blob. Amphion would have laughed at the comical scene if it wasn't so weird. Amphion looked over at Sara and made eye contact with the hellhound, he raised an eyebrow and said, "You have any idea what's going on here?" Sara simply looked over at Miss Hotaru and then back at Amphion, "I have no idea." Amphion shook his head slowly and turned to watch the scene unfold, he wanted to go to the mountain now. This little detour to the candy shop was making him uncomfortable. |
Hotaru Sweetheart Just as Hotaru was about to finally put her fangs into the delicious marshmallow-like blob, she felt a sharp sting to her head as she was karate-chopped awake by the pink-haired woman whom she had given macarons to earlier. Hotaru was still befuddled and it took a while to process the situation - what she was about to do, what she had done, and how sad she was she wouldn't be able to taste the black marshmallow of a blob in front of her - finally when she had processed it all, she'd make a deep and apologetic bow to all the remaining customers in her store. "I am so so sorry! I truly am! I just... You see, when I see candy... Sweets... Anything I haven't tasted before... I just lose control of myself! Of course I was in the wrong, I admit it. I've been incredibly impolite and unprofessional towards you, towards all my dear customers... I should've asked for consent first, right? Consent is important! Mr. Blob, or Ms Blob, whatever pronoun you want to be called... I know I may have been very rude towards you earlier, but if you don't mind... Could I ask for just a bite... So I can sample that taste and create a new candy out of it? I insist!" While Hotaru was apologizing she would in a sure haste prepare a similar package of macarons for the gentleman but in a pack of 6 as the pink lady had asked for earlier, as well as the sour candy the blob had asked for; all that Hotaru had picked up right before she had lost herself. "Oh! And That'll be 270 Yoki! 140 for the macaron pack of 14, 110 for the jar of konpeito for the crying lady, wherever she went, and 20 for the piece of sour candy! The macaron pack of 6 is your free sample bonus, as well as compensation for my earlier mess of a scene!" As she had said all of that and handed the goods to the respective customers, Hotaru now turned towards the blob; eyes sparkling and putting on her sweetest and most charming smile, giving it her full undivided attention, waiting for, hopefully, a positive reply to her previous inquiry. This time she didn't look at him with eyes as crazy and lustful before, instead she was more like a mix of a love-struck school girl waiting for her crush to read her love letter and a puppy waiting for its afternoon treat. |

The candy lady went back to normal as quick as she changed into maniac mode, or at least partially, since right after deeply apologizing, she insisted on tasting Geno. At this point, Geno decided to humor the lady and just get this over with. Geno said "... It's fine. I do warn you though, I don't think I taste that good." as it felt her needy eyes fixated on him. She would find difficult to actually bite off a piece of Geno, as she was a normal human, but she would certainly taste it. The texture would be as one would imagine it would be if they touched Geno: very soft and warm. As for the taste, Geno's warning was on point, as he would taste similarly to paper. Once the whole tasting ordeal was done, Geno would take his candy, and wait for everyone to be done and leave with them. Still trying to figure out what the hell just happened on his own. |

After all, getting a discount was always nice. Once their group had gathered again, he'd discuss the next part of their plan. “Alright! He wanted to first go back to the dormitory building so they could drop off the candy. Amphion actually wanted to eat his macarons while they walked but he didn't want to get in the way of what the others wanted to do, nor did he really mind going to the dormitory building anyway. He wanted to see more of what this place had to offer and get familiar with his new home. "Strange to think this is our new home, eh?" Amphion communicated to Sara, the hellhound looked up at him with intelligent eyes, recognising the slightly melancholic quality of his voice. "We'll be alright, it's not Earth but it's not bad, not from what we've seen so far anyway. Plus, your daughter is here somewhere and that's all that really matters." Amphion half-smiled, appreciative of his friend's support. "You're right, gotta stay positive and try to find her. I'm glad you're here; guess Hades isn't all bad if he was thoughtful enough to send you with me." Sara didn't respond but simply bowed her head slightly, acknowledging his words. The mutual understanding between the two meant that no justification was needed, they both understood the importance each had in one another's lives. Amphion would look at Zahrah, "I'm happy to follow along, I'll probably eat my macarons before we even get there though!" he said with a chuckle. He would then pick out a macaron and start eating it as they left the store and headed to the dormitory. |

April would "wipe her tears" but she would only end up smearing the tears all over her face, making it appear like sweat or morning dew on a flower. "Let's go!" She would say when everyone was there. She'd do her best to avoid eye contact with Zahrah as they went to the dormitory. Leaving the area. When they'd get into the dormitory, she would run into her room as quickly as possible, hide the jar underneath her bed and take one shiny candy from there and hide it in her pocket and get back down. Acting like a bullet as she wanted to be as quick as possible. |
