So, what were the monks doing? Something evil, I guess, but it's not explained. It's funny to see Ayaka attack her business rivals in full samurai movie homage because they're making her bankrupt, but this episode doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Overall, there are some lingering questions about the characters' relationships like, what is Mamoru's relationship to Ayaka? Is he her son? Or some kid she just picked up? It's possible information like this was included in the laser disc liner notes originally, and therefore it was decided to not spend time in the anime on it. I get the feeling Pioneer commissioned this series just to have something to sell on Laserdisc lol

I enjoyed it for the nice old school animation for spoopy season, like for example the werewolf running in front of the Blade Runner-esque Coke billboard in the beginning of this episode, or Ayaka herself, a nice mature (on the outside) lady who is easy on the eyes, and has nice thighs.
