Mangaka Akino Mimura's personal Twitter account has announced that she died on Monday at about 11:12 a.m due to breast cancer. Mimua tweeted on June 25 that she was admitted to hospital, and on July 13 that she was gradually recovering. She was 60 years old.

Mimura made her debut in 1977 with Watashi no Risou wa Anata-sama in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shoujo Friend magazine (currently Bessatsu Friend). Her works were also published in Kodansha's Me, mimi, and Be-Love magazines. Mimura was known for manga series such as School Days (pictured), Densetsu no Shoujo, and 100-nen no Lyra.

RIP Mimura sensei. Her art style reminds me of other works I've seen.
