Amanojaku arc (vol.1):

Well, well, well... this was really just a big bunch of sexual scenes (intercourses or not) excused by a very thin introduction of the story and background myth.
You can't ignore the period of creation of this series when you see teenagers triggering scenes of large destruction through the power of their mind. It screams 80s.

Drawings can be very good and at times very awkward (various faces of Nagumo and Amano notably).

2/5 If there wasn't that much awkwardly justified sex, I wouldn't mind this much.

What the f**k moment early on when Amano throws a baby to its likely death. I can't even think of any antiheroes who would do something like that. I was surprised by the junior high setting because I thought the characters at a minimum would be in high school (given the fact this is a work of erotica). I also found the panel featuring Akemi's notebook filled with comments regarding Nagumo cute (not shown in the original Japanese volume).

After Nagumo wakes up from his nightmare, there are two things about his room that caught my attention. "I Love New York" on the wall and an American flag on the ceiling. I guess the first detail is fine assuming Nagumo's visited New York (or wants to do so), but the second detail is a little odd given he's not even American. In regards to the history class at school, the Onin War is a real thing.

Ozaki licking Nagumo's blood is unusual. It's also unusual that they're able to receive alcohol at a club despite being minors. But there's that line from Amano regarding Ozaki: "That guy ain't no junior high kid." My initial reaction was that maybe Ozaki got held back several years, but it's more likely that the line is referring to his suspicion of Ozaki being the Overfiend. (In case someone's not reading FAKKU's volume, the stuff I talk about beyond this paragraph is in the Japanese version of the second volume.)

Is Kuroko's biting of Nagumo's phallus considered homosexual? And you know what's weird about Nakamura's encounter with Kuroko? Kuroko's so small, yet Nakamura doesn't even try to fight back as she's molested by him. It's laughable when he inserts his head into Nakamura's reproductive organ though.

Definitely not cool of the girl to start crying when the teacher catches her copulating with Sagawa, causing the latter to be falsely accused of rape. Although many of Sagawa's classmates doubt him, I'm glad Nagumo still believes Sagawa is innocent since he knows him personally. And I think FAKKU's volume ends at the perfect spot—right after we learn the name and identity of the girl, Megumi. I hope to see Sagawa found innocent in the next volume.
