How Episode 13 would have worked perfectly

Episode 13 of Hakyuu Hoshin Engi is probably my personal most despised episode on any media, for 3 reasons:

Being a Recap episode in a 23 episode series.

It's a recap episode... In a 23 episode series... Which already had had a recap episode (Episode 7 or 6.5 depending on how you look at it)... And has been trying to cover around 200 manga chapters worth of material in those 23 episodes!
Seriously, has there ever been any other 2 cour anime with 2 recap episodes? I can't remember any...
Plot twists being revelead like it's nothing.

Three of the biggest plot twists in the entire manga are revealed just like that, without any sort of imact.. Jokka, Fukki and Genshitenson's soul splitting shaeningans.
Order of events is all messed up.

Nothing new here, we saw this since episode 1 but this is another level of messing things up.

It's just so weird how they placed the events in this episode, since they still haven't happened yet (In fact they happen way later in the story)
Episode 12 animated material from Chapter 122-125

Episode 13 animated material from A LOT OF DIFFERENT CHAPTERS
e.g.
The whole mirror sequences (The one where characters are sit in sofas) are from chapters 186,187,188
The last couple of minutes in the episode are from chapter 166 (Joka)

And by the looks of it Episode 14 will continue where episode 12 finished.

It's basically like they took the chapters with the biggest reveals/plot twists and put them together in this episode... In a recap episode...

Now, I know why recap episodes exist, it's to save money BUT there's a way that would have made PERFECT sense to make a 'recap' and IMO it would even have elevated the series +2 points (From a 5 I gave it, to 7) IF they had done this:

Making a 'recap' episode BUT animating scenes of chapters they didn't animate.

It would have made SO much sense, and they kind of did in some parts of the episode, but still it would have been great to see some chapters from the manga (Or even arcs) being covered.

An Old fan favorite like Raishinshi and this panel I loved from the original manga (which showed just how wacky Ryu Fujisaki could get with his 4th wall breaking)

Or animating parts of the fight Taikoubou had with Chokomei..

Heck I would have LOVED to see this animated if you have only watched the anime this is tecnhically a spoiler since it wasn't covered in the anime adaptation BUT still I encourage you to look at it, just to get a look of how wacky the original manga was (and yeah THIS IS HOSHIN ENGI, I DIDN'T PUT OTHER MANGA BY MISTAKE)

So yeah animating scenes that hadn't been animated would have been a perfect 'recap' episode... Yet still they decided to make ANOTHER recap episode :/

It's funny because I like how they did the recap on my hero acedemia by adding stuff to watch and making it feel more natural, plus Liked having a refresher of some of the earlier stuff plus powers.

If i remember correctly Beatless has like 3 or 4 recap announced in total. (already got 2 before the second half even begin)

No, they only announced two recaps

This news was from February 7, and it mentioned that recaps will air February 16 and march 23 (and it did)

Nobody announced 3rd or 4th recap

Reading that again made me laugh. Again.

So sad that they butchered the whole Chou Koumei fight and many many other things...

As a big fan of the original, "ripped off" doesn't even begin to describe.

If they know that they cannot adapt the whole thing, why bother? Just do an arc or another, don't make a damn mess like that.

More than angry, sadness describe. Disappointment.

The sad thing it that this anime would have been way, way better if it had been a cour longer, like I could have seen a 39 episode Hakyu Hoshin Engi being great, of course cutting some unnecesary chapters here and there and going through some stuff quick...

The other thing they could have done is just continue where the previous anime had left (or had covered), they could have gone full 4th wall breaking and said something like "Well, there was another Hoshin Engi anime in 1999, so we are just gonna continue from where that left, minus the fake ending" and continue with the Cho Komei arc.. I mean, if they actually had done that I would have been OK with it, because that's the humor/nonsensical 4th wall breaking this series had.
