Satou too OP this episode. Seems Mia is starting to really trust him now.

In regards to the action, I had mixed thoughts about it. Too much focus on Satou again with him doing the work. He meets the dryad again too. Lol, rock paper scissors...

Even a picky swear this episode lul

Feels like this is the episode the series built on.

The action scene at the start was fair, sometimes it was animated pretty good and sometimes the animation completely fell down that kinda made a mess out of it but overall it was fine.

3.5/5 (4/5 in poll) I enjoyed it probably the most out of the last few episodes or maybe all.

Satoo really made that fight against the homunculus and golems easy with his skills though. The sorcerer though really had a tough life though. Immortality can just be a curse as much as it can be a boon it seems. He sure had a dramatic escape from the cradle though. It's quite surreal seeing the homunculus's use RPS to determine which among them will stay though. Zena probably wished that Satoo would have stayed in the town with her i guess. Its nice that Zena and Satoo were able to meet one last time. An interesting episode that did a good job of concluding this arc.

In this episode of Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku, Satou killed Ainz Owl Gown and then proceeded to successfully escape from the salty haters from MAL forums. All that while being locked-on by several death flags. Don't worry, later on the death flag immunity and even fail flag immunity will get even more ridiculous.

A Dryad was deprieved of all water and died. Sure, she can "live if there is a forest", but not if said forest is dehydrated. Well maybe she teleported away before the salt arrived.

wow, the action scenes were a lot better than previous episodes. I was dreading how that scene would end up looking but it turned out fine. Not amazing, but fine at least. Death March is not about the action anyways. And now we get to volume 3!!! It's crafting time!!!!

Nice episode. Looks like they're going to fit another arc into this season.

The way I understand it, dryads are a hive mind. This specific instance of a dryad will probably die (since her tree turned to salt, you know), but that does not bother her, because they are a hive mind and don't feel bad about some of them dying.

I wonder... 3 episodes is a bit short. For a moment I feared the anime staff would perhaps do something completely stupid like going with an "anime-original ending" or so, but then I remembered that the director of the series generally doesn't seem to do that and this anime is supposed to promote the LN sales.
Still, it seems too short for another arc. I really can't think of a place where this series ends at. Maybe it will turn out to be split cour. It would certainly explain the generally lackluster graphic quality of the series, which is worse than a less popular (in Japan) series that the director of this series directed previously (I am talking about Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry).

I mean Death March as a franchise IS selling enough to warrant a season two. And I think it's much more better received in Japan than it's in the rest of the world because Satou's personality seems to be very... "adult japanese-like" which many people in the rest of the world probably can't emphasize with as much as the Japanese do, resulting in different views about Satou.

You are right, but it just sounds funny to imagine how she says with confidence that she's fine, only to realize too late that she actually doomed herself by staying there.

Well, it doesn't seem like she could run away from her own tree anyway, or perhaps it would be meaningless. Rather, Satou probably would have had to transplant the whole damn tree to let that instance/node live.

I know Satou is extremely op and all, but that fight was so boring too watch, and it barely showed weapons hitting their target. The master pyromancer scene wasn't bad, though, but it was so random and seemed out of place. Even having about 8 more girls agree to join Satou, didn't help much. At least Zena finally confessed a little to Satou, and said she'd be joining him in the spring. She took long enough.

One moment he is an utter weakling from the last episode, the next he pulls a Kirito/Jesus-kun to wipe out those hench-women? Also im pretty confused why he could'nt just teleport again before the tree became salt. It seemed that his teleport skill worked perfectly and quickly before the tree became salt. Rendering the whole last segment of that part boring and redundant.

Overall the episode wasn't that good until the end. I'm intrigued in the power Arisa has.

I was HYPED when Liza was the first one to welcome Satou back. Seeing as though Arisa, Tama and Pochi are always more concerned it was nice to see Liza embrace him. (My favorite girl btw)

That ending was very interesting with the whole "Don't forget...We'll always be together" part followed by the "To Be Continued" I think thats the first time we ever got that in this anime. So thats interesting.

Satou made short work of them as expected.

Ah so Zen just wanted to be free from his cursed life, it was a sad backstory, hopefully now has had found peace.

Great escape and rescue in the end, very good thinking using fireball like that to help cross the ocean.

I had a feeling her would could her Nana as that is one way of saying Seven in Japanese.

We get to see a little bit of Satou & Zena again before he heads out on another adventure.

Zen staged the whole incident, so that a hero would come and kill him. Since he is undying and can't commit suicide. Plus Mia is apparently from the same bloodline as the creator of the cradle and Zen needed her to activate/control it. That's why Satou asked her if she can stop the self destruct mechanism.

Save the Loli, Save the World.

The fight against the homunculi and the golems was nice. Fortunately, Zen could escape his cursed existence with Satou's help.

How he escaped the destruction of the cradle was cool. At least the haters have a reason to call him Jesus now.

Rock paper scissors was hilarious. One more girl for the group. And she's in Satou's strike zone compared to the rest. Arisa was pissed.

Bait. Zen was hoping to lure a Hero-class person in who could successfully slay his immortal self.

It's one thing to be Superman when no one who knows you is around, and another thing entirely when Lois is watching over your shoulder. XD He initially decided to hide his strength as much as possible because he wanted to treat this as a vacation and just kick back, but if it became known that he was Jesus-kun, then he'd have to deal with being expected to be a hero. If no one is around to see his badassery, then he is more comfortable cutting loose.

I'm pretty sure that he does not have any actual teleporting abilities like you are thinking. He took the initial shortcut of following Zen thru his portal thingy to the boss's room, and had to make out with plants to receive partial warps on the way back up.

That ending scene, with the "Goodbye", really hit me hard. Even though I already knew it was going to happen because of the Manga, it was still heavy.

For some reason it passed me the feeling that they were not going to meet again, at least as far as the manga is right now, which isn't that far, they didn't meet again, yet.

It is really bothering me, I almost felt like crying watching that scene a few times because of the anguish and empathy of it, and I didn't even know that I could feel like that.

If someone reads the Novel and knows how things turned out and if they are going to meet again, please send me a PM with this spoiler.

He has been level 310 with an infinite amount of skill points since episode one so yea he's a Gary SU Mc but you should have expected that were what nine episodes in now? Dunno when he appeared weak? He holds back around other people bc he doesn't want to be the hero for some reason yet unexplained.

He never used a teleport skill the elf girl did. Then the wood nymp used a teleport spell to teleport them to where the tree of the seeds he had were grown. So that's why he couldn't teleport again making the following scenes you saw. Did you really even pay attention to the episode?

Not a bad episode, got a new character to the party sucks we couldn't have Zena couldn't come on the journey since she is my favorite. Battle scenes looked good. 4/5

I'll just take it as Zen needed her to activate cradle because there seems to be no point to her being taken other than to act as a plot device for Satou to care about Zen.

Unless it was specifically stated somewhere that the homuculi girls needed Mia within proximity for whatever reason, like to give them mana or something, then the homuculis are unrelated to why Zen would need Mia. Which wouldn't make sense regardless since they're fine parting ways. A reasonable explanation would be he needed her to create more homuculi but there was no sign of more being made, not that we would know.

And not sure what you're implying with the bait remark. It's a legitimate question.

Pretty much, yes.

And what deadman80 meant with bait, is that Zen used Mia as such. Not that your comment was bait.

Mia is the key to the Cradle. Because she is an elf like the creator or something.
She also makes good princess to rescue (she can wait for centuries as a worthy hero levels up in the lower levels of the Cradle), but Zen probably has other options in case nobody rushed to rescue her.
