| I haven't seen this Devilman yet, but as I have found there are scenes that keep some gore stuff from the original manga. Devilman is also rated as +17 here. I suppose that a TV version of Devilman couldn't be as explicit as the manga was, because TV was a stronger media where everyone had the chance of watching it, so it could have been controversial. My question is, was it supposed to be for "kids", "teenagers", or was it a failed attempt of adaptating Devilman? How does japanese's estimation of age rating affect this? |
