This prologue is an amazing sign of what is to come. What is abundantly clear is that the author, Carlo Zen, is extremely well read. The amount of references and allusions in this work is impressive. It shows the author is actually knowledgeable in the subjects he is discussing, and it has raised my expectation for what is to come. This is a quality that I have not come to expect from light novels.

What surprised me is how far this prologue went in describing the main character. It pretty much spells out Tanya's strengths and weaknesses, and insight into how Tanya came to be in her previous life. This isn't a good sign for the literary quality of the novel, but it does show how well thought out it is. It also prevents erroneous interpretations as well. The defining trait of Tanya is that she is completely cynical. It's no wonder that a person who completely sees life as a game of power relationships would have a difficult time following God.
