I was looking to see whether Tanaka-kun was on HiDive (Amazon Prime, but in Australia, and without the double paywall). Turns out, not only that it was, but that they're releasing a dub. The dub will have a weekly release, starting on the 16th of January 2018.

I was thinking of re-watching it. But I don't think I'm gonna hold out for the dub. This isn't one of those shows that particularly needs one anyway.

EDIT: Turns out they released it all at once on the 10th of January, them bastards lied to me.

When I first checked out the dub, I didn't like it. Then I gave it 4 episodes and still didn't like it. Unless I was to complete it I'm not qualified to comment on the dub.

I can name a few examples.

Clannad: It's boring as hell, and dubs make boring easier to endure. The comedy flows better in the dub.
3-gatsu no Lion: Slow pace, and episode 10 is so much better dubbed.
PaniPoni Dash: The comedy works better with the dub.
Mushishi: Iyashikei tends to function better dubbed, when watching Mushishi I end up too sleepy to read subtitles.
Kill la Kill: Animation prioritizes motion over fluency, and because of that the visuals are constantly pertinent
Koe no Katachi: Outstanding cinematographic metaphor, that subtitles would prevent the viewer from observing (Shame about the dub we ended up with)
Black Clover: Horrible Japanese voice acting
ef: A Tale of Memories: Horrible Japanese voice acting.
Neon Genesis Evangelion: Bland and unoriginal Japanese voice acting
Sword Art Online: Series that's meant to be fun, dubs are more fun than subs.
One Piece: 800 episodes long and counting.
Ouran Host Club: Appeal centred on the sexiness of the main cast, male japanese voice actors aren't sexy.
Gintama: Bombastic performances tend not to sound good in japanese (although Tomozaku Sugita performed it the best anyone ever could have).
Spice and Wolf: Western setting + Western audience = Western language
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: Endless 8 + Subtitles = Torture (although it's also the second best japanese voice acting I've ever heard)
Psycho-pass movie and Zankyou no Terror: ENGRISH
Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun: Don't know why, but the dub is funny, and the sub is not.
Steins;gate and Mob Psycho 100: Okabe's and Reigen's voices come across as disgusting in Japanese (for me at least).
Hibike Euphonium!: Don't know why, but everyone else says this needs a dub (although I consider it the pinnacle of good japanese voice acting).
One Punch Man: Heavy appeal to a western audience.
