Like I hate to sound like a debbie downer, but this nonsense garbage gets a season 2 while plenty of other good stuff doesn't? It really is a shame sometimes. I know a certain group of people must like this so I guess that is good for them. This however just makes me sad.

Heh, don't be such a whiny kid.
That's China for you, they are now infiltrating anime with garbage.
Then outsource it on Japan and wait English company to pick up the trash.
Haters always gonna hate.

China got the money. As long as anime fans continue piracy Japan will continue rely on China.

What on earth are you talking abt?? Gin no Guardian is made by Haoliners Animation League, a chinese animation company, funded by a producer who's only produced their anime so far.How does that correlate to Japan relying on China? Its the other way, moron, China is selling telecast rights in Japan. Stop making shitty parallels to piracy. No I'm not defending piracy but you don't know what you're talking about.

One excellent example of a joint venture that is making cross-border strides is Haoliners Animation, which was set up in Shanghai in late 2013 by Li Haolin. The company opened its Japan branch, Emon Animation Co., in October 2015, making Emon the first Japanese anime studio with a non-Japanese parent company.

Since 2014, the AJA has attributed the growth in the market to success in the sales of streaming rights to China, a trend that has not changed in 2016.

So?! There is new employment opportunities for the Japanese due to this. Still fail to see how it has anything to do with piracy. At the end of the day, any profits or losses from the anime, be it physical sales, money from streaming rights, merch, etc is the responsibility of the Chinese production company. Japan has literally nothing to do with it.

You would have had a better argument if you had talked about the fact that this anime is getting produced regardless of what the West thinks because the finance is by China. Its a win-win situation for Japan & risky for China and has nothing to do with any other country.

Again, streaming sales is a good sign for China which means more pandering to them in the future. But even if everyone in the West who's a pirate, buys anime from now on, it won't even come to 10% of China simply because of their huge population size.

I guess you didn't read the other links I posted. They have to pander to China because they need Chinese money. In order to pander to China, they have to cooperate and joint venture with Chinese companies in order to access Chinese market. Heard the word synergy before? All these is not needed if only non Chinese international can bring in more money to Japan anime industry more than China.

It's no secret that China is an economy flush with money these days. Many different industries, including Hollywood and other entertainment businesses, have spent the last five or so years actively trying to court Chinese investment. And as for the anime business, it's enjoying a windfall of revenues for licensing new shows to Chinese mobile and internet content companies like Tencent.

https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/answerman/2017-04-10/.114578

Basic rule of business is very simple, 'where there is demand there will be supply' and piracy will never be counted as the 'demand'. Look at the bigger picture. Do you really think it's a coincidence that we been getting short anime like Tonari no Seki, Saiki Kusou etc. It because of China.

“Demand in China is increasing greatly,” Widad said. “People are becoming more and more connected through their mobile phones, and Chinese consumers now don’t only watch anime on TV or their computer; they tend to watch a lot on their phones. That is why we get to see a lot of 10-minute episodes; it’s the most useful for people watching anime in the train or during breakfast.”

Tfw I don't even think this series is that bad.

At best its just a confusing show but I did enjoyed it for how nonsensical it is, to some degree at least.

It seems like this season of Gin no Guardian will be short as another Chinese anime will be broadcast on TV starting end of February 2018 on the same timeslot at the same broadcast channel (Tokyo MX). According to an user here, Gin no Guardian 2nd Season will be airing 6 episodes.
