The basics form me. Okay, if you are reading this then I assume you are a new trainer, or one brushing up on the basics or an expert checking my work. All good. We will start with the basics. Each pokemon has a special defense stat, a special attack stat, a defense stat, and an attack stat. These are the stats that correspond to damage dealt in battles. Special attack always hits the special defense and attack always hits the defense stat. The higher one is the more effect it will have, thus if the attacking stat is higher the damage will increase all the way to taking out your opponent in one hit. But if the defense stat is higher it will reduce the damage all the way until the attack only does a single point of damage. Only pokemon immune to an individual type of move will take no damage such as a fighting type move ageist a ghost type of pokemon. There are also damage multipliers. A regular attack with no positive or negative multipliers is a numerical value of 1.0. Now a critical add a value of 2.0, super effectives add 2.0 , and moves used that are the same type as the user add 1.5.. Other factors also add to battle damage such as weather conditions, which add 1.0 to the corresponding element and diminish the opposing one by the same. How ever moves can be affected y negative values as well. Such as moves that weaken the power of other moves I think lessen them by 1.0.Not very effect moves lessens damage by half of the normal damage total. Thus, if you use a water move form a water pokemon in rain against a water type pokemon you will still do more damage then your original attack would have done against a non water type under normal conditions. The speed stat affects both whether you go first in combat and your evasion and accuracy rate with some moves. Going first should provide an obvious advantage. Your accuracy opposing your opponents evasion stat determines if a move hits when the move’s accuracy is less then 100 percent. The move thunder is most affected by weather conditions though. Rain boots it’s accuracy to 100 percent, sunny lowers it to 50 percent. Sunny also allows for solarbeam to charge and hit in one turn. A Pokemon’s nature and characteristic help determine how it performs in battle by altering its stat value as it levels up. More as I think of it. |
