Maybe it is "last" as at the end they will find place to stay so they don't need to travel anymore ?

Everyone is. Imo it's a bit like saying "today is the last day of the rest of your life". It's catchy but in a way it just means life is one big trip. Especially when the world has ended and like the girls said "they have to travel" or they'll run out of food.

Well I can't say much since I haven't read much from the manga.

But I don't think it means literally dead to be completely honest. Maybe the meaning behind that is that it'll be the last trip around their lives, knowing how humanity has been eliminated for most (of course you may see some survivors for example the guy that was introduced around the 3rd episode iirc but that's minimal).

Someone's last tour can also just refer to a tour of duty, which would fit given their military regalia.
