| Souichi still can be nice with other people. So it was really his grandma or just a spirit or illusion? |
| Cool to finally experience the infamous Souichi. Although, overall, it was decent. 6/10. There is a charm to it to how normal it kinda is compared to Junji Itou's more extreme horror, so I still enjoyed it for what it is even though it's not a favorite. Souichi being an entitled arrogant boy who does voodoo to hurt others for whatever reason- from the bad influence of his grandmother who had ill-will towards others and a self-claimed fortune-teller. Having nails inside his mouth, smiling at his teeth with the ability to spit them out accurately like a blowdart is pretty cool. The events of puppet's sucking his teacher/classmate's souls, being able to move from their own will with a similar personality to him and cursing people out of jealousy was interesting. The way he hides, sneaks and creeps people out with jump scares, chuckling to himself or speaking to himself was intriguing in its own way as well with his childish attitude. A deeper understanding to why he acts that way with more character development would have been nice, but for him to stop his ghost grandmother and twin brother from killing in the end after noticing Michina's shared cake for his co-birthday was sweet. |
