| I already made this topic but then i didn't had the club yet so I'm reposting it. A Geta is a japanes wooden shoe like this I got the idee to make them from the character Jiraiya out of the Naruto series. Before I made the shoe I had to know which measurements it has, so I find this applet that calculates everything for me. http://egeorgeonline.com/getapage/plans2.htm A problem that shows up is finding the right wood, the right thickness is a real problem cause thats the one thing you can't change of your piece of wood. Whit the wood I had, I had to make Ha's that were thinner as normal. How I did it: - First I searched for the wood that was best to use, right measurements but also as clean as possible and good wood(not fiberplate or somthing). - Then whit a hook of 90 degrees and a lat I started drawing the shoes on the wood. I cut the wood whit a woodsaw, enough removed from the line so i could later on make a right surface whit a file. - Then I put my foot on the sole tho determinate where I should drill holes. - Afther the drilling I used woodglue to put the Ha's on the sole. - I used a thick black string to hold the foot. I fold the string in two and were the fold is I put it in the hole were youre big toe is. Once there's enough trough the hole I cut the rope in two so I can make 2 knodswhit them. The ends go in the other holes and are made knods in to. These are photo's of what I have until now All I have to do now is to sand it and to paint it. |

| I finnaly finished my geta's. I sanded them whit a 120 and painted them whit dark red paint(+318 Karmijn/carmine/carmin/karmin/carmín). Remember to use real paint and not waterpaint. Here's a pic of the tools I used today And here's a pic of the shoes themselfs |

| I had to make them red like Jiraiya's ones. I have an updaye about the string. Its better to make a small loop whit the string at the toes and go whit the other string trough it. It will fit much better. |
