I liked this arc, pretty sad how 001's father turned out to be but he did have a heart and cared about his son but too bad that wasn't enough for 001 to save him in the end although I was pretty confused with the ending, maybe Gamo died already sitting in the chair since it seemed like he had a heartattack or something. Oh well, good arc.

Now onto the next.

Agreed, this one was pretty solid. Although Caine's motive was pretty lame "humans are disgusting but fighting's fun so whatever!" Yeah, okay emo hair...

Gamo isn't redeemed. The psi powers saved Ivan's life which was great. But he still sacrificed his son for torture and testing. If they wanted to say that was the only way to save Ivan's life, they could have, but the story didn't. Even then, Gamo could have been trying to help his son, especially after the escape. If black ghost could find the cyborg team, over and over, Gamo could too. I don't buy his lament, but I can believe he loved his son in his own way. I also agree a fiery death was exactly what this man needed.

The animation continues to be superb. The art style has changed from the beginning of the show. I wonder if new artists are responsible for this? Or maybe the old artists finally got permission to cut loose. My favorite scene was 009 creating a wave of ice and water just by running. Seriously, how cool was that.

What was uncool was 009 being saved again. Though Rina definitely deserved the win she got here. I wonder if she sent them to the time labyrinth? Or did they just go to the future and disappear from existence? In any case, the story followed the predictable plot points and everybody died. Only a handful of the cyborg teams opps get to live. I guess it makes storytelling easier.

They never explained how Gamo got his hands on the black dolphin. Or a number of other issues. But this arc was better than the Mythos Arc. The action was better in the Mythos arc tho.
