Honestly I think anyone in the upper bracket has it in them to win it this year. Pretty close call

Based off of group stage performance alone then Liquid and LFY were the most impressive teams, but history has shown that that doesn't always translate into being the best team on the main stage too so it's hard to call. I think Liquid is the "safest" pick here (especially if you believe in the curse of Western teams winning on odd years and Chinese teams winning on even years) but really anyone can beat anyone in this upper bracket without it really being a big upset

Soooo yeah I guess I'll go with Liquid but there isn't any clear favorite here really

I think it will be Liquid or OG, having some of the most consistent performances IMO.

VP also seems like a good bet with their sheer versatility in heroes overall.

Our boi RTZ should be the winner. NO ONE ELSE.
dont't watch that anime if you are going to give it 1* and cry 10000 words in review about it.

That's not the only cliché in play if you want to use the superstition card. In fact I made this earlier just for fun:

1. Chinese teams can't win on odd years
2. No teams or players can win TI twice
3. No one wins TI after starting the main event in the lower bracket

Add all those filters in and the only possible winners of TI7 are Team Liquid, TNC and Virtus Pro
If you believe in such things that is -.^

I mean like I said anyone can beat anyone here so it's not a huge surprise but I wasn't expecting both Liquid and EG to get knocked down, that's pretty un-TI-like. But from here on out I guess it'll be a race between Newbee, LFY and VP imo

Despite being the favorites I personally never thought Liquid would do it. What can I say, really well played, the most impressive run from the lower bracket so far. I'm especially happy for KuroKy, he really deserves it.

I was disappointed by EG's poor performance, but that was still some of the best dota i've ever seen.

Most importantly though, with China dominating the scene, Liquid still kept the tradition of western teams winning in the odd years. Ironically, they also won the water-themed TI.

Ultimately I come out of this TI with a somewhat underwhelmed feeling. On top of the winner being predictable I didn't really enjoy the way Liquid played so many of their games with cheesy picks/strats, we had a ton of really boring and one-sided stomps in the bracket including perhaps the worst TI finals ever, there were some rather questionable decisions by Valve such as the needlessly limited number of people used on the panels for the first few days (and arguably for casting), we had a number of production issues (especially sound issues during interviews and performances), and as much as I like Day9 normally I'm not sure having him host this as his first Dota event was the best idea since he felt kinda clueless a lot of the time (unsurprisingly)

Looking back at it I can't help but feel like TI6 was better at all of these things. Both the production/organization of the tournament, the average game level and the eventual champions all felt so much more memorable. We also didn't have some truly outstanding game this year like EG/Ehome last year

So... yeah idk, I mean I still sort of enjoyed watching TI7 but I was still expecting a bit more from it. Hopefully next year will be better

You were close!

Just a surprise they didn't win any games in the grand finals.
