| I recently finished reading the manga and I had the same question. It isn't exactly clarified and it also makes me wonder if Go Nagai had planned the story from the beginning or he deemed unnecessary to explore Asuka's and Akira's past in further detail. After some research on wikipedia, I found that chapter 5 of Neo Devilman written by Nagai himself, shows some flashbacks of their highschool days. From Devilman Wikia: However, this left me with even more questions...! Who is Psycho Jenny? Did Satan fall in love with a human because he is made in the image of God? Devilman Lady might give some further explanations, but I haven't read it yet. |
