In Knights of Sidonia there were at least one spoofed Blame trailer that really rocked. Unfortunately I can't find the version cut out from the actual anime where that pink alien gets scared and they ensure her that Killy will find the Net Terminal Gene, it was the best part of the whole season two.

But seriously, this trailer is everything the movie isn't.

Apparently it was this trailer that made netflix make the movie, so it's pretty stupid to not follow up on it...

"For many viewers, it was a charming but not especially important scene. But for fans of Tsutomu Nihei — the creator of the manga Knights of Sidonia is based on — it was thrilling. Killy is actually the star of Nihei’s first published work, the dark and gritty manga Blame!. His appearance in Sidonia lasts less than two minutes, but it made a strong impression. “People were talking about this piece so much that we decided ‘Why don’t we do a movie?’” explains director Hiroyuki Seshita."

I haven't seen the film yet but I don't really get your point either?

Other than how the movie sucks and I am still upset that I spent 1,5 hours watching it? ;D

The manga has great potential so it was such a waste. The trailer showed how good it could have been if it just focused on it...

The movie was good. The rewrites to the plot were done by Tsutomu Nihei himself and he overlooked every aspect of the film himself (without getting too involved). The point of the movie was to show Killy from the aspect of normal people as opposed to from Killy's own which is the mangas take on. The manga is too long however to turn into a single movie.

You could detail out what you thought was wrong with movie to get your point across better.
