Monogatari Series: Final Season
I find something fishy with this dialog. Although it was not said directly, Araragi & Shinobu did something naughty after the events of Shinobu Mail. Remember this was around the time when they have problems with Nadeko being the snake god. It seems that the cause of Araragi's vampire acceleration is not that he goes almost every day to the shrine and gets beaten by Nadeko consequently using his regenerative ability. It seems that during that time, Araragi & Shinobu did what we can call Vampire Mating almost regularly, that is blood sharing. Only vampire lovers should do this kind of thing. Kiss-Shot is a virtuous woman by Hanekawa's standard so it is understandable that she would allow Araragi to do it with her since he is technically her vampire mate. KIZU: Hanekawa “They say appetite and sexual desire resemble each other. Besides, following that line of thinking, isn’t it clear why a vampire doesn’t want that much to create a subordinate? In 500 years -- she had two subordinates. I don’t know much about vampire’s idea of chastity, but she has been a virtuous woman.” “Virtuous?” (<- Araragi replied with this. Araragi you sly, I'm sure you are up to something when you learned this from Hanekawa... and probably did more than just vampire blood sharing with Shinobu.... You probably started planning this after you saw that Shinobu's mind went blank for a moment when you kissed her in Shinobu Time....) Vampire Blood Sharing - ABC In layman's terms it is exchange of bodily fluid which technically is having S_X. It did help him recover fast but It had an undesirable side effect. I don't know exactly which of them suggested it but I guess they both got carried away. Breaking down the dialog........ Gaen herself is clueless why Shinobu/Kiss-Shot would choose to remain on Araragi's shadow or why Araragi would forfeit his chance of being human again. Gaen is wise enough to doubt and want to know the real reason: "If you’ve got some sort of scheme in mind, please do share with the class.” Of course Shinobu would not tell the real reason and throw away a laugh "I am not scheming anything—I have long since tired of fighting, and I wish to gain your acknowledgement as harmless once again. Is that truly so difficult for a specialist to understand?" "Kaka…" Shinobu playing HARD TO GET with this statement..... “Of course, after successfully ridding his body of all its vampire elements, if my master no longer wishes to become a vague existence neither human nor vampire, I shall retract my wish. After healing that arm of his, I shall hide myself away in a mountain to live the life of a hermit.” Araragi quickly rejected the idea of letting Shinobu go away and not be with him. "Not happening." He then noted ..... "After that exchange, we swore never to repeat the mistake of accelerating my vampirization via our habit of blood stealing-turned-blood dealing, and we then restored our link for the third time." It did not say that they will stop what they are doing but instead not repeat the same MISTAKE, meaning they will probably do it in moderation this time. Stealing - Shinobu drinking Araragi's blood. Dealing - Shinobu & Araragi drinking each other’s blood. Araragi already tasted Shinobu's blood and this is how he described it. KIZU: Araragi Her blood. Kissshot Acerolaorion Heartunderblade’s blood -- was delicious beyond compare. No matter the quantity -- I could keep drinking it forever. I wanted to keep drinking it forever. That’s how delicious it was. This is how it feels when blood is sucked. This goes both ways. In KIZU, however, Kiss-shot is in pain because, Araragi's intent there is to kill. Below, even if Shinobu is angry at him, she drinks his blood passionately hence Araragi felt pleasure. In LN, Shinobu carefully licks Araragi's neck clean after drinking his blood. KIZU: Araragi As if she was also peevish, she showed some resistance -- but immediately She became docile, and while still not saying a word she bit my neck. A little pain. And then a sense of euphoria spread through my body. Shinobu is such a naughty vampire! Continuing with the dialog Araragi noted... "No, perhaps she really did have no choice in matter. After all, I, at the very least, can no longer envision a future without Shinobu in it." Implying, they are both really into it. It seems they can't just get enough of each other and could not live without each other anymore. They sure do know how to hide secrets. After that... "Of course, that doesn’t mean we’ve forgiven each other. Perhaps in 400 years’ time, there will come a day when we can forgive one another, and a day when we can forget about everything, but for now, call it complacency or call it compromise, call it collusion or call it clowning, that’s how it is between the two of us." They so want to be together as long as possible. Talk about greed or better yet, after Araragi learned that he would go to hell when he dies, he decided that he might as well spend his eternity with Shinobu/kiss-Shot. -------------------------------------------- I just learned this after reading NISE LN, They were doing it since day one. It just so happens that things got out of control especially during Nadeko Medusa... |

| Hard disagree, did you completely ignore that shinobu wanted to die and her being kept alive by araragi is punishment ? Of course, that doesn’t mean we’ve forgiven each other. Perhaps in 400 years’ time, there will come a day when we can forgive one another, and a day when we can forget about everything, but for now, call it complacency or call it compromise, call it collusion or call it clowning, that’s how it is between the two of us. said: I don't think you truly understand shinobu's character in her original form only her childish childlike form. |
