[Diamond Island]-Cafe-

Jakob strolled into this strange building, he vaguely remembered cafes from his early childhood but didn't know that much about them or how they functioned. He saw strange boxes- No they were televisions- where they played some sort of program on people talking to each other. He recognised one of the men as the guy from the Entrance. He must be a celebrity of some kind. He decided to ignore the television and 'looked' around the room. His head and eyes didn't move though, as they never tended to do. He saw that there was a women sitting down, he decided that he would approach her.

He wanted to gauge the strength of his opponents. Cerebus, his massive hellhound, followed him in. Jakob sat down on the sofa across from the girl, his pupilless eyes showing that they were blind. However, it was clear he could see through other means. He wasn't looking at the girl with his eyes but it was obvious that he was 'looking' at her. Cerebus walked to the girl, not choosing to sit with Jakob and tilted his head curiously at the girl. "Your eye colour is strange." The hellhound says before plopping his canine ass down on the floor and staring up at the girl.

Jakob tilted his head curiously at the girl's response, she had let out a noise that sounded like a high pitched scream but not as loud, she had also repeated the sound for 'my' a few times before getting it out. A stutter. That's what it was called. Jakob shook his head in response to the girl's question, he was not Cerebus's master, but his friend. Cerebus answered for him, "His name is Jakob, and no we're friends, he's not my 'master' per se. I'm Cerebus by the way, what's your name girl?" He asks with what looked to be a grin, it was hard to say since he was a hound. He enjoyed the girl's response, it made him feel like he was intimidating. Then a person came in, Jakob noticed them approaching first with his sixth sense, he had seen them before. Their gender was still a mystery to him. Cerebus looked at the new arrival, "Yeah sure, Jakob isn't going to take part in the conversation, though. He's a mute, can't talk, and he's blind too, but he can see th-" He was interrupted as Jakob gave him a light kick from where he sat. Cerebus sighed, "Sorry, not supposed to tell you. Jakob isn't very trusting."

Jakob didn't turn his head or his eyes as Byaku addressed him, he didn't really care. to be honest. What would people guess? That he sent out a constant hum that they weren't able to hear so he could distinguish the depth and range of different objects so as to get a constant 360-degree picture of his surroundings?He doubted it. The girl introduced herself as Kiyome, Jakob shifted his body language slightly as the name was said. Only Cerebus would be able to accurately tell what it meant. The girl then got up and approached Jakob, getting rather close and peering into his eyes. He leaned back slightly, uncomfortable at the sudden approach.

Beneath his face mask his cheek's reddened, he didn't exactly know why as he hadn't really been in the vicinity of girls since the age of 7. Especially not one who was attractive like Kiyome. If he could see through his eyes he would have averted his gaze. The girl had backed up because of the other person's arrival. The person had introduced themselves as 'Byaku' and Jakob silently noted this. Cerebus walked over to where Jakob was and leapt up onto the couch, sitting beside his friend. "Well. I'm not really a demon. Just a hellhound, don't let the name fool you, I'm not actually from hell. I'm actually a pretty nice guy, well, dog. Anyway, Kiyome, you should do that again, I enjoy it when Jakob gets embarrassed." Jakobs looks quickly at his hellhound, his eyebrows furrowed in a frown, clearly displeased with Cerebus.

Jakob noticed people entering the cafe, one of them having just left not too long ago. Cerebus let out a chuckle at the girl's comment on Jakob's eyes, Jakob shifted uncomfortably, lifting his face mask slightly to hide the reddening of his cheeks. "Heh heh heh. Oh, and I know what Jakob's thinking just based on his body language. Been with him since he was 7 years old." The hellhound says proudly. Jakob kept some attention on the three people that had entered, his eyes and head obviously didn't indicate this. However, he kept most of his attention on the girl before him. Cerebus looked back at Jakob and tilted his head, Jakob gestured between the two of them and then pointed at the girl, Cerebus nodded and turned back. "Jakob was wondering if you wanted to form an alliance?"

Jakob nodded at Kiyome's response, it was good that he had found a teammate so early on. Cerebus responded to the girl's doubt, "That's fine, healers are useful if we use strategy instead of brute strength. Glad to be partnered with you." Cerebus's ears prick as he listens to the other table conversation with his enhanced hearing, at least they were too far away for Jakob to hear since the fact that they are in the presence of an assassin would not have pleased Jakob. They then began to come over to their table, while Jakob had not been listening he was still watching them, as usual he does not indicate this fact. When they came over Jakob got to his feet to greet them with handshakes and whatnot but the girl grabbed his new teammate's breasts and sexually harassed her. Jakob's from burrowed and he pulled his longs word from its sheath with quite a lot of speed, he levelled the sword at the girl, his blind eyes closed as a strategy to throw them off. Cerebus's remained calm in this, "Hey lady, I suggest you let go and apologise for that before Jakob skewers you." Cerebus says.

Jakob did not move as he continued to level his sword at the molester. She had let go of Kiyomi but there was no apology, instead, the girl had leaned in and whispered something to her. Cerebus heard it but Jakob did not, "Listen lady, you better apologise. Jakob doesn't take too kindly to people like you, or to people like your friend- Byaku was it?- A sexual harasser and an assassin. A pleasant couple you two make." Jakob opened his eyes slowly and, for the first time since being here, had emerged from their lifeless state, they practically shone with his ferocity. He ignored the little boy's threat, words were nothing. Actions were what counted. Jakob was a man of few words obviously, so this was even more true for him. Cerebus sat rather relaxed still, he looked up at Kiyomi, "Maybe you should move over to this side Kiyomi, these people aren't the most honourable."

The knight that hadn't said anything up until now (Or at least Jakob assumed he was a knight due to his apparel) finally spoke. He addressed the situation by making a humorous remark about the name they'd gotten themselves and told Jakob that he should lower his sword. The man then proceeded to say that if Jakob was willing to raise his sword he should be prepared with the consequences. Jakob was already prepared, in fact, he was more prepared than anyone here knew. For when Jakob drew his longsword he would not sheath it again until it had tasted blood. The man then said that Jakob was less honourable for thinking less of his opponents. This meant that his strategy had worked, closing his eyes was meant to anger the opponent and make them think he was going easy on them.

However, due to his sixth sense being his only way of seeing as his eyes were blind, he could see whether his eyes were closed or not. He always maintained the low-pitched hum in his throat that no one could hear which acted like sonar to give him an idea of the depth and distance of everything around him, providing him with a 360 view of his surroundings. The molester then uttered an apology but followed through with accusing Jakob of being dishonourable. Jakob eye's flashed. Protecting allies was a dishonourable action? He shouldn't be surprised, though, that thinking would be typical of those that had grown up in the slums. Cerebus responded for Jakob as usual, "Actually, protecting one's ally is honourable. Not threatening those that assault them is dishonourable, not sure what world you live in but it's got a warped perception of honour, girl."

Then Byaku, the assassin, began to speak. Trying to justify the murder of other people with the agenda of saving her own little siblings. Jakob did not change his mind at all, that was flawed logic. He had heard those kinds of excuses before, but nothing justified the taking of life for money unless the person being killed deserved it. However, most of the time it was just personal grudges that dictated someone's desire to hire a killer. "So you killed people to save your own siblings? How many people did you kill to save your siblings? Every single one of the souls you took, they were a brother, sister, a son, a daughter, a parent, a friend, a colleague, a lover. In your quest to save your siblings you brought pain and suffering to a lot more people instead. The profession of an assassin is a selfish and vile one.'

Cerebus then directed what he was going to say next to the knight, "Jakob does not lower his sword or sheath it once it has been drawn. One of you must challenge him before he does so. Once his steel has tasted your blood then he will be content in putting it away. You violated our newly found ally and for that Jakob is not willing to forgive less he tarnish his honour. Knight, do you wish to battle? You obviously hold your honour to be much dearer than those two." He says with a relaxed tone. Kiymoi put her hands on Jakob's sword arm, trying to get him to lower it. Jakob tilted his head to her, giving the impression he had taken his eyes of the enemy even though he could still see them quite clearly. His eyes softened but he lightly shook his head at her, indicating he wouldn't back down.
