You know, Yosuga no Sora (anime and eroge) always get disregarded like "That one Anime/Eroge where a dude bangs his sis", but i personally thought its a beautiful Anime (and the Game even more).

With beautiful i of course dont mean the hard-ecchi scenes (lol) but the romance of the show.

Its not Kiddy romance like some 0815 romance anime that ends with a kiss (could list many lol) but actually Yosuga no Sora has a realistic and mature approach to romance themes, not only that, but the whole Sora route (in Game its the Sora route, in Anime its like ep 1,7,10,11,12 or something) has a veeery deep Message about Love similar to "Love is blind" or "you love who you love".

Thats why i think Yosuga no Sora is actually one of the best romance anime ive ever seen (dont worry my MAL list isnt completed loool)

What are your thoughts on this? ^^

I completely agree. It hurts to see people just pass it off as a fanservicy incest anime like Kiss x Sis, its MAL score is ridiculously low because of that.

Not to mention it has imo one of the best OST's of any anime, heck even the VN had a beautiful OST too (same composer). The art and general atmosphere is just something unique and pretty, with a melancholic feel to it. It's one of the few actual Romance anime there is, as like you said, most "romance" anime nowadays barely have any romance until the very end (maybe holding hands or a quick kiss). The main flaw for me was that there just wasn't enough episodes to do each route complete justice, I wish it was like Amagami SS and had 4-5 eps for each girl, rather than like 2-3. Still I feel that it did a decent job with the character development, and is incredibly overlooked.

I've seen a lot of anime with Romance as a genre, but very few of them have actually had any romance. IMO, the 3 best actual Romance anime are; Yosuga no Sora, White Album 2 and ef A Tale of Melodies.

I am not sure if I'd call it the best romance anime ever. But what I can say for sure is that this is a text book example of a well-made, consistent Anime.

Everything just matches the general, melancholic and sometimes tense premise of the show. Especially the soundtrack I found fitting well to the ongoing story. And as I value original plot ideas, I think Yosuga no Sora handled its rather unusual plot structure perfectly. Apart from much I've read about it in the short time since I watched it, I also don't think that the plot parts are not linked together but rather point to the end if you give the whole thing a second thought. And the ending (the 12th episode), well I didn't think it would turn out the way it did. But is it not a sign of good writing, if you can't predict the end easily?

I actually felt urged to dig up this thread since I think this Anime is totally underrated and misread. If you read this and haven't seen it yet, please leave aside all the ecchi and harem talk about it and see for yourself what else it's got to offer.
