I watched the anime way back when and only read up to Miranda's arc in the manga. (Because unfortunately the scans and translation sucked back then) So all I focused on was the anime. While Road was more sadistic in the manga if I remember was it this bloody? I watched all of the 1st episode of hollow up to the opportunity, 5 minutes, and was lost. It's been awhile since I watched it but I remember most of it. How much do I need to read in the manga to synch with this story? Also 13 episodes and so many characters in the open I've never seen, like all the new Tikki look alikes. Sorry there are probably dozens of topics on this but my phone is making it difficult to read but there's the big POST TOPIC so sorry if this is the 10th topic on this question. Was the anime on the light side and the manga was actually this bloody all the time or it this more faithful than the first anime?

The new anime is following the storyline accurately with one tiny exception of the arc where Krory turns the Black Order into a bunch of zombies. This is very insignificant in the manga and was left out because the original anime made it impossible to show as they showed Krory waking up in order to provide closure over his character because the series was ending. The reason you're confused is because the characters in the opening theme get introduced much later on in the manga- way after the Miranda arc and way past the season two finale. they're just more Noah clan members that become important later, as well as other new characters like People significant to the major characters back stories, like Kanda and Allen. As for how to understand the plot better, the absolute best thing to do is read the whole manga and the new rebooted chapters. But as you probably won't want to, I would just say to skim through the last few episodes of the show to see if they jog your memory.

The manga was actually more bloody all the time than the first anime.
