People assume that the face in the ending of S3 is a demon, who tells the kid to make these stories. If you look at the storytellers mask, you'll see that it is very similar to that demon. Just look:
The shape, the eyes, the mouth, the lips, the nose, the face, etc.

I think that the storyteller's mask is actually the a demon who possessed the storyteller and made him tell stories (and it can't just be a mask, because it makes no sense why it moves on the mouth and everything in the ED of season 2).
Now in season 3 that demon has possessed that kid instead, and makes him draw stories. It has left the storyteller and has gone to the kid. And like I said, the kid only draw the Kamishibai pictures and is not telling the stories, that's why there's no storytelling in the beginning of the episodes. And there's no storyteller either.

This is just what I think, but it actually makes sense. What do you guys think?

The kid is the storyteller.
The demons are telling the kid stories and he's writing them down.
The storyteller being possessed? I doubt it, probably made the mask in the image of the demons whispering to him.

This theory is so much better than the whole season 3! This season has been disappointing so far

It's actually a really good theory but I think the kid goes on to become the storyteller we saw in previous seasons.

I think the kid had unlocked demonic powers from somewhere and he can bring his twisted imagination into reality. He draws and brings them out.

Similarly, when he becomes a storyteller later on as an adult he uses this traditional style of storytelling i.e. while showcasing handmade drawings as the story progresses. I presume he was the one drawing these drawings and when he showcases them he's actually showing them the people's death documentary of some sort.
