K DVD Video Quality

Does anyone know what the DVD video quality is like for this series? Is it at least 480p? I downloaded the first episode in dub from the Microsoft Store and the SD option is in 480p (perfect for my 14" laptop). It's about $20 for the dub in SD but the DVD is $30 on Amazon which would naturally include the Japanese soundtrack. I like the dub just fine and could possibly go without the Japanese audio but if the DVD is not on par with the downloadable version I won't bother.
(I don't have a Blu-ray player or HDTV so that's not an option.)
