I thought it was act of responsibility
But she explained it clearly..... That was exactly elaborated in another king game's series in Alice's arc...
That was bad ending I know it was forbidden love they are cousins but they want to be happy and to love...

But that ending gives me hype there might be a sequel, tho its not good cause there will be another victim

This manga is a prequel. The link below is the "original" story.

King's Game and King's Game: Origins are incredibly bad and should not be read by anyone with even a remote interest in horror manga.

The ending was fine but it doesn't link with what we knew from the "original" story. Chiemi's mother should be Honda Natsuko and not Takao Rie. And in the original, Cheimi says her mother disappeared when she was 1 y.o and in Kigen she is currently living with them.

There's quite the continuity gap with this ending... I'm not really sure I understand why, if they were making an origin story, they'd change the structure of characters around. At best it's a very loose tie-in. I don't really get where they were going with some of that ending stuff.

Even still, I felt the pang of heartache for the poor guy who learns at the end his daughter is now going to get sucked into the game.

Yeah
I late realized that I read first the sequel before the original....
Chiemi was died her boyfriend was the sole survivor
Her father is the protagonist in this series

You guys saying bad stuff about the end of Kigen... did you really pay any attention to it at all?!
Although I was expecting Natsuko to survive with Kazunari and be both parents of the twins from the first series, it's easy to understand why it wouldn't work at all after all that happened in Yonaki. Kazunari was lucky enough to be released after a year!

Anyway, this was a fantastic series - infinitely superior to the first one - and had a great ending! It didn't leave any loose strings and the explanation for the events was just perfect.
It's been a long time since a mangá got a really satisfying story and ending like Kigen did.

Now, about a future series, both Chiemi and her twin are carriers of the Honda Clan virus. The first series was always ready for a sequel anytime, using that start point or simply the (existent) point left with Nobuaki.
There's also a nice feeling if the author decides to write about the Honda Clan and their reasons to create the Ou-sama virus itself.

that was confusing. the virus didn't really link with what we know from the sequel and the whole situation with chiemi was bizarre since there was no continuity there.

The ending felt rushed and lazy, its usually the problem with time skip endings.

The ending itself actually made a lot more sense to me than the one from the Original series, however, when it comes to the overall experience - the first one touched me a lot more than this.

Probably mostly because the first one was set in modern times, in an environment more natural to me. This one happened in a mountain village 30 in the 1970s, something as alien to me as moon itself.

Also, admittedly, the climate didn't change too much, even the characters were behaving in similar ways, so it was far more predictable for me

PS. It made completely no sense for a guy who went through the King's game, especially after knowing what it was, to start living normally and actually create a family. I mean it's only natural that this would carry over to his children...but I guess horror logic

This is so confusing 😭

Ou-sama Game - Original
Ou-sama Game Kigen - Prequel
Ou-sama Shuukyoku - Sequel of Original
Ou-sama Rinjou - Side Story of Shuukyoku

Am I right? I read the original first then I read Ou-sama Game Kigen and got so confused.

In the last chapter, a time skip of 32 years meaning it's the timeline of Ou-sama Game Original, but I thought Chiemi's mother is Natsuo Honda who disappeared when she was just a yr old? because now it seems that Natsuo is just her twin sister 😭 please help...

Lol the author screwed up the universe apparently. So the original and the sequel main female characters are sister apparently. He also complicated a lot of things, so the MC married his wife who happened to be a researcher for the virus and somehow the virus managed to spread to Chiemi.

Should had check his work before starting on the origin work :o

Still,I enjoy this a lot more than the original.

Im so confused. So basically we're just gonna accept that honda natsuko is chiemi's sister. And honda natsuko being a researcher and chiemi's mother did'nt actually exist. Technically the king's game origin is being forced to be set up in an alternate universe while king's game original, extreme, and visit are set up in the same.

Michiko was the best part of this manga and the only one who thought things through. Everyone else was horrible. I hate the MC.

The ending did mess up the timeline though because Natsuko died, so she can't be Chiemi or Natsuko's mom. The MC did have strong feelings about bringing Natsuko back though and he did touch the poison, so I get why it continued with his kids. Stupid guy should have died and saved everyone else the trouble.

Huh, that ended unexpectedly. I had a slight belief that the MC would take his own life upon realizing Natsuko’s death. Overall a pretty decent manga.

Yeeah, shitty ending to a shitty series. Third entry in the franchise, and I really don't see anything fun about reading the deathmatch, where you know characters have pretty much zero chance of surviving or taking down the oppressor. Because, well, it's a virus. Self-aware one, may I add.

Gotta love how every single main protagonist is EXACTLY THE SAME nice guy who can't do anything and is just lucky till the very end for no reason at all.

Guess I'm just no good with this kind of stories, huh. At least it was more fun to read than Shuukyoku, although big part of it might be just that the artstyle was waaay nicer. 4/10
