Question about the new movie " Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie"?

Based on what you’ve seen in the movie, how would you define the term “ghost”? Why does it seem to be important to only some of the characters, but not others? How important should it be that a highly technological society pays attention to and even cares for its ghosts?
