Should I be excited for this?

One of these days I'm seeing this show, for no other reason other than the fact that I want to watch everything made by KyoAni. That's it.

From what I hear this show has got, yaoi subtext, manservice, and swimming. All things that dont' interest me.

So I'm wondering. Is it super funny? like, really, really funny? From the impression I got, I feel there might be the factor of the show being satirical. Does it make fun of fangirls, yaoi, fujoshis, and shipping. Kyoto Animation has poked fun at the anime fandom before in subtle ways with the Haruhi series, and in less than subtle ways like Lucky Star. If this show really does add satire towards the female demographic of otakus, it has the potentially to be witty and hilarious.
Is the fanservice used for humor? What about the gay subtext? If the show is smart there's a lot of oppurtunities to make fun of stuff with that. Is the subtext strong? So strong that it would gross out someone who hates yaoi?

Maybe I shouldn't get hyped for this show, and come in with bad expectations. Maybe then I'd be surprised and the show would turn out even better. I don't know. I will see it though, for the sake of completing all of kyoani

It's not yaoi subtext if you don't see it

The comedy isn't the main point, but it does have nice comedy. Ep 4 is the highlight of the series in terms of being funny

No. The only manga is "kiss him, not me" that is self aware

No, it's because they are swimmers

This show isn't yaoi.

And why is this show good? It's a sports anime about characters who have motivations, dreams, passions in their life. The slice of life aspect is done well.

Huh, so it's one of those dramatic inspirational coming of age type things. Okay, that gets me less excited than a full on comedy. But I guess it has potential. At least I got pristine animation.

pretty sure I'll be good on that.
I'm willing to bet you've probably seen tsuritama. I'm hoping the show is similar to that.

it's more dramatic than tsuritama and more realistic. tsuritama only kicks off in the last few episodes.

Don't listen someone else's opinnions. It's not yaoi/gay at all.
People keep saying it is, just because there's some skin showing. Gosh.
