| So as you can see in the title that the previous Black Jack series aren't directly connected to this one. They are seen only when you click on its manga. So how is this connected to those shows? Is it a sequel, a reboot or a spin-off sort of thing? If there are fans of the old shows I would like to know the order to watch it in. Edit: Okay so I just realized that is a prequel to all the Black Jack stuff released before, and that's the same with its manga too. |

| I read the entire original manga over the last two weeks, and I can at least say that you probably don't need any prior knowledge of it in order to watch the new YBJ anime. It's 100% episodic |
