So hey im going to try to start the first discussion/theorycrafting thread here. So basically. Lord Momonga was transfered from a game to the "game world" so to say, because he did not log off. Could it be that he was not the only one to do this? Or maybe he was somehow"unque" and was the only one transfered?

And to continue on that. How do you think other "players" would react to their suddent teleportation. Because lets remember, that Lord Momonga doesnt have any feelings as he is undead (or at least has very little of them), so he wasnt affected that much by the teleportation thing.

And the last topic would be. What level "players" would be if they were transported in the same way Lord Momonga was? Woulld level 50 for example would be transported? Would even level 10 "players" would be trasnported?

Disclaimer: I have not read the manga or anything else, i would like everyone to keep this discussion about anime part of overlord only without refering to any outside sources.

I highly doubt that Momonga is the only person that was 'transferred' from the game to reality. Since the server just got shut down not long ago, that means that players who are stuck in that world are struggling to gather information and are not famous yet (Just like how Momonga did).

Considering the fact that Momonga is a Guild Master, he already had several strong bodyguards + strong items which make his circumstances different from a normal player who does not have such luxury.
I would say these 'weaker' players would form party with people to find out more about the world.

Looking at how Momonga remains in the game, it is safe to assume anyone who has not logged out from the game are in the same situation.

It would be interesting to hear some other theories.
Your taste in Anime is shit.

Because you can't differentiate between what's good and bad.

How sad.

The first thing Momonga does is to check outside the tomb. And as Sebas tells him - the whole area around is different from what it used to be in the game. One could assume the only thing that was moved/teleported was Nazarick. Since the only player inside was Momonga, that would make it highly probable for him to be the only one in the entire world.

But... Nazarick was originally a guild building/hall so maybe all other guilds present during the server shutdown were teleported as well? They obviously wouldn't be placed next to each other but spread out across the world so that would explain why he hasn't encountered any other players so far.

As for the second question about how the players would feel - I believe they probably wouldn't be too desperate if we assume that whole guilds were teleported. I imagine it would lead to them grouping together and thinking about ways to escape, much like the characters from Log Horizon. And their levels? The max was supposedly 100 and most of players staying in the game probably reached that level before the server shutdown so that would make a whole lot of max level characters.

- There has been no proven connection between server shutdown and transport to the other world.

- Yggdrasil servers were shut down to be decommissioned, it was last day of the game. It is highly unlikely there will be many players online during the shutdown, most left long time ago. Even Momonga's own guild has been inactive for few last months because game was dying. There would be only a handful of those nostalgic about the game as Momonga is and it would be safe to assume there would be hardcore players with maximum levels with powers akin to Momonga, maybe without the organization but still insanely powerful on new world's terms. If there was someone else, he would attract lot of attention.

Novel actually makes hypothesis about that (I'll add this on request as spoiler)

Even though it is fairly unlikely we will see Momonga duel with an another player in near future (or even, during entire season of anime), there is still some small chance this may happen eventually.

Regardless of the information you may get from anime (or from novels) Nazarick still operates in relatively small area and explored only a small portion of the entire world. Just check the map shown in one of the anime's episodes. So called Empire, Theocracy or Kingdom aren't exactly huge states. They may be others powers in far away lands or on other continents no one in the setting (including momonga himself) won't have any substantial information about.
