I assumed it was because the anime simply ran out of enough material to adapt after the end of season 2 (the manga was published bimonthly and each chapter was very short). So there was a 4 years hiatus during which the manga continued and finally ended late last year. So right now they will have more than enough material to make 1 cour and can provide a proper ending as well. |
