| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- They were going for an emotional episode, but it still ended up being hilarious. Kabuto Kouji beating up Shiro for remembering their dead mother was just priceless. And then Shiro going on a rampage and attacking other mothers. I liked how Mazinger Z still had "scars" from the last battle. Although they suddenly disappeared in the second half of the episode. The part when Shiro shoots his "mom" looked so fucked up haha. |

| Well, they tried, and I guess it's the best character-based story in the series...but that's saying virtually nothing. The heavy-handed scoring and janky animation really let it down in places, though. Were their parents even mentioned before this? |

Also this part was so weird/fucked up |

| Ah, the scene in which shiro attacks the mothers on the beach was really cut out from the dubbed version, Tranzor Z :( Still, pretty hilarious.. like when shiro receives a massive amount of mud balls (?) or when koji just threw him against the wall with the cart and all 0.o' |

| One episode left before the defeat of Dr Hell and they decide to dedicate it to Shiro's mummy issues? I have no problems with the concept of an episode about this topic, but it isn't really the best time to do it. Also, it's pretty stupid that Shiro could believe that his mother had magically returned to life and really wanted him to destroy Mazinger Z for no reason. Contrivances aside, I did like the scene where Shiro has to kill his "mother" - I thought it was suitably dramatic and handled well. |
