| this just reminded me why i hated the book so much,not that i thought it was a bad story,i would get really mad while reading because I couldn't stand the unfairness of the world that it was a real pain to read it....if that makes any sense. I guess the anime did a good job because i really got mad again while watching it lol |

I started the novel after going as far as I could (subbed) with the anime, and found the start of the novel too slow to read in one go. I mean, really, why spend 60-70 pages detailing the life of a bishop who, in the grand scheme of things, isn't important at all? Grrrr. Hugo rambled WAY too much. |

The kindness of the Bishop is such a huge theme thats so incredibly important to Les Miz overall. |
| I got a good laugh out of Cosette and Gavroche pranking those girls out of their muffins. Such a shame that they got along with Cosette like sisters initially but have now been bent into bullying her by her mother. Alan is an interesting fellow, I was roaring when the Mayor just kept asserting the errand boy job onto him. Although the pace and dialogue feels strange at times, I'm still enjoying it and ready to keep going if not for an assignment I have to complete now. |
