Zane:
I gasp as the mansion appears before my eyes, my mouth falling open. "You live here...?" I ask, not because I don't think that someone like him /could/ but merely because I am surprised that such a places exists here. "It's...It's beautiful...!"
I move my head from side to side as I walk across the manicured lawn, trying to take in every detail that I can of the scene. It is beautiful, like no place I remember and possibly not even a place I have been to in the memories long gone. I stare at the green grass and the little flowers that grow in it. The azure blue sky and the wispy clouds that populate it. It is wonderful in every describable way.
I watch in awe as the doors open on their own. I'm a wizard, or so they say, I suppose I should not be awed by such things. And yet, I am. I follow him through the doors and immediately I /feel/ the magic. Just as I had in the presence of Dawnst, I /feel/ it. How...I don't understand. I watch wide-eyed as the tea set floats across the room on its own accord. This is amazing. Completely and totally amazing.
I sit when he asks me to, and I gently sip the tea that floats my way as I listen to all that he has to say. "Everything I remember...?" I ask quietly, "Um...ok. So...um...I woke up in the middle of the forest. I was by this really old looking tree and it had a symbol carved into it, but I don't remember what the symbol was...I'm sorry," I feel very sad all of a sudden. I /should/ be able to remember at least that. "Um...may I have paper?" When it floats over to me, I let my hand draw. I don't think, I just draw. "That's the symbol," I whisper, as it has been reproduced onto the page. "And there were little orbs of light floating around me. My scars hurt. I remember that, and...they looked fresh...I remember that I was wearing these clothes and I had this staff. I began to wander around then...for several days. They all blurred together...I had nothing to eat...I was going to die...and then I met Hecate. She met my eyes and slithered away...I followed her. She brought me to a deer. That was when I used magic for the first time. I just sort of...knew what to do. I pointed my staff and the deer fell over, bursting into flame. Then I ate it. Hecate led me out of the forest, and led me here, to Casthradia. That's pretty much everything...I think..." I sigh. "I don't remember anything before that...well, some flashes. Screaming. Fire. A river freezing. But...not really anything else." I look down at Hecate. "I owe her my life. I'm sure she'd speak with you, but I don't know if she CAN speak..." Hecate looks at Harvold, and meets his eyes. |
