| Maybe their characters face was wide enough to make any different from one another, is that what you think? For example: http://myanimelist.net/character/37832/Madoka_Kaname On a serious note, most of the time, character design is usually like this. It is most likely due to the designer prefer or good at designing one facial portrait. The most obvious and well known artist who is really good at this copy&paste face is Tony Taka. |

| Considering the demand placed on the designers and artists at any given studio, you can't really expect every single character to be some unique individual. Almost any anime you watch will have this problem, some are just better at disguising it and distracting you from it than others. Every designer/artist has something they can do better than anything else they do, certain shapes, types of faces, hair styles, there's always that one thing that they do so well. Usually that one thing is also the thing they can do the quickest, therefore it's repeated a lot. Also, when faced with time constraints, budgets, and other such variables faced by anyone in the industry when on a project, they can't make every single face, hair style, eye, nose, background, cloud, etc unique. Cells are re-used, faces look the same, backgrounds becomes interchangeable backdrops that can be dropped in and pulled out at a moments notice. That's what makes those few 10s, those few epic masterpieces, so wonderful to find. |
