| I'm also wondering what happened, also heard he was working on a live action "Vampire Hunter D" film in addition to a new anime feature....its already 5 years now and still no news... makes me sad this anime had really potential :( |

| Entering year 2 since we were given concrete confirmation on the CGI series (and 7 years overall since we were promised a series in the first place) and I'm starting lose patience. What heck is taking so long? The only thing made in all this time was a freaking comic book. |

| Works like this fascinate me because wtf are they even doing for so long? The LNs are beeing written for 40 years now, the last anime adaption (which was actually amazing) is 22 years old, the manga is 8 years old. Yet the series? Still missing. |

I just got done watching Bloodlust and while the first movie was a 5/10 for me, sequel was a 8/10 movie that gave me "this has to be a episodic series" vibe.

| That's the damn truth. Looking into the companies that were supposed to be doing this, Digital Frontier and Unified Pictures, it seems they each have a 2024 project in the works so it's not like either company is dead. They just decided to give D the shaft and for the life of me I can't understand why. Wikipedia claims "Pre-production on the series was put on hold in early 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic." but that's bullshit. They weren't working on it before the pandemic other than some guy writing a first draft of the pilot episode in 2018 that they did fuck-all with. Pandemic or no pandemic, most likely we still wouldn't have a finished series by this point. |
