| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I have been a huge fan of the TV series "Comic Party" (2001) and "Comic Party Revolution" (2005) for a long time. I have re-watched both of them multiple times. Just now, I became aware of the 4-episode OVA series, and was very lucky to be able to locate it. Very roughly speaking, Episode 2 of CPR-TV is the same story as Episode 2 of CPR-OVA. However, the TV episode is 23:33 long whereas the OVA is 29:49. So clearly there is a lot of added content. The OVA was made in 2001 and the TV episode was made in 2005. Quite clearly, they started with the 2001 OVA and chopped out some pieces. The animation for the OP was redone, I believe. A major constraint on their editing was the requirement to keep the music okay. But they managed to do this very well. For anybody who has watched and enjoyed CPR-TV, CPR-OVA is a must-watch. |
