Just futuristic streets that you chat in as you move from location to location. |

Walking down the street, Whitney tried to keep from bumping into anyone. He didn't want to converse or interact with anyone at the moment. He had only attended his mother's funeral a few days ago. He wasn't in the mood for anything. Luckily, he didn't start work until tomorrow, so he had some time to wind down and collect his thoughts. |

Soujiro I flew through the streets on my hoverboard when I see someone desperately trying to avoid people. I zoom up to him and I laid on my board as it drifted by him. "You seem like a person who wants to be alone right now. I may be a complete stranger, but that doesn't mean I'll just mind my own business like most of these people walking by us. What's wrong?" I say. |

Hearing someone speak to him, Whitney clicked his tongue in minor annoyance and looked down at the guy laying on his board. "Ya' know that most people avoid the guy wearing leather, patches on his face and a scowl. Fer good reason too." He remarked rather coldly. "An' why would you even care? It doesn't concern you." |

Soujiro "Well, probably. But, don't you think that you could probably want a friend in this big city? Look, I've only just arrived a good few hours ago and I can tell you that no matter what, you need a friend to not feel like the whole world is against you. Do you get what I mean?" I say to the guy. "The name's Soujiro Yamashita btw." |

Pausing at what the guy said, Whitney sighed. It did make sense, and even though he was a bit hesitant for gaining friends after his last ones were... well, not really friends, but he couldn't just stay on his own forever. Besides, most people wouldn't have even been interested in conversing with him after that harsh response. "Whitney Kanzaki." He introduced himself back. Staying quiet a moment, he wasn't exactly sure how to speak with the man, so he simply went with basic small-talk. "Why'd you come here?" |

Soujiro "Well, I was heading to the theatre to apply for a job. You see...I'm an amateur actor that'll take this city by storm with my talent. Where are you going...or maybe you already passed by where you were going by trying to fight through this crowd?" I say to him. |

"Nah... I was just... Thinking," Whitney responded with a sigh. "Get my mind off things... Hey, you want me to come with you? For, you know, moral support?" He lightly joked, shedding a small smirk for the first time. "Wouldn't want you to pansy out," He added. It was obvious that, although joking, he actually was trying to get his mind off... whatever it is he didn't want to think of. |

Riding in a taxi that she had called for back at the airport, Kureha remained quiet for most of the way toward her new home, an apartment that she had arranged for beforehand. She wanted to start a conversation with the driver about this city to know more about it, but she knew that their little chat will sadly be cut off real soon anyway. "Let me down here, Mister." No longer than 10 to 15 minutes had passed when she leaned forward and told him this. He raised his eyebrow at her, and she replied before he could ask. "It's fine, most of my stuff were sent to my place already. I won't really have to worry about carrying extra luggage down the streets." And it was true, when they stopped and she got off she only had a small business bag on wheels and backbag on her. She was planning for this 'stroll' all along. |
"Hateful feelings. Hurtful feelings. Unforgivable feelings. To face one's own feelings is akin to throwing oneself into a bottomless pit, or setting sail on an endless sea. You must not look there. You must not think about it. Though you search your soul on the dark, heaving waves, you must never look in that place." - Kusuriuri |

Walking down the street she admired the shops and fancy apartments that she could only dream of living in, before she heard a sudden growling noise and realized she hadn't eaten the entire day. She noticed a woman walking down the street with a market bag filled with food, she sprinted quickly, dodging a few people then snatching the bag away. Before the woman could say anything Kira was already down the block hidden in the crowd, still running, she quickly turned the corner and saw too young men in front of her unable to stop in time she crashed into them. |

Before Soujiro could respond, they both were interrupted by a young woman speeding around the corner much too fast to slow herself to avoid slamming into them. The girl wasn't necessarily large, but she did sprint into them, resulting in Whitney stumbling back quite a bit yet barely managing to keep himself from flying onto his ass. Once he regained his balance, he acquired a scowl. "What the hell's the matter with you?!" He questioned the eccentric girl. |

Unfortunately Kira landed on her butt, then quickly picked herself up and dusted herself off as she looked up at the young man, she figured it was too early to start problems so she decided to play it kind and delicate. "I'm sorry, I should really be more careful next time, please forgive me." She said in a soft voice, tucking some of her hair behind her ear and softly blushing. Sadly, her act showed she was trying a bit too hard. |

Soujiro I was about to say something when a girl rams into me and knocks me off my board. "HEY! Wa- hey, why is that woman chasing you?" I say as I see a woman running at her with amazing speed. "Ah. Super speed. That's a great power." I said and got back on my hoverboard. I blasted off to the theatre, but left my number for Whitney. |

"Wah-Hey!" Whitney shouted after Soujiro before sighing and looking back over to the girl with a scowl. "What the hell are you trying to do?" He questioned her. "And don't try that cliche bullcrap with me," He futher warned with a growl. Though he had to admit, the girl was cute. |

Kira let out a sigh and crossed her arms, "Alright, I was running away from someone and I accidentally bumped into you and your friend, I'm sorry." She was looking down, refusing to make eye contact with him for whatever reason then suddenly lifted her head to look him straight in eyes. "But watch your mouth! You're in front of a young lady, geez!" She snapped at him. |

Normally, Whitney would have retorted, however for reasons unknown to the girl, he simply sighed and shoved his hands back in his pockets along with the number given to him by Soujiro. "Yeah... Right. Sorry," He apologized, which was quite out of character for him. He still was quite depressed, after all, and it showed, even to a stranger. He just wasn't in the fighting mood. "Just be more careful next time, would ya'?" He warned her before turning. It was quite lucky that Whitney had very little possessions as it meant he could afford to mope around like this rather go and deliver everything to his new place of residence. The only thing he really had of value was a necklace that his mother gave him that he always carried with him. |

"Of course.. but wait a second." She said walking up beside him, "Are you alright?" Kira asked noticing his depression, to say the most she was concerned about him even though she didn't know his name yet. Having nowhere to live, talking to a stranger is the least of her problems. She opened the market bag to reveal it was filled with wrapped different types of breads, Kira reached in and pulled one out offering it to the young man. |

Sighing at that, Whitney calmly shook his head. "No, but I'm not about to go crying about all my problems to a stranger," He responded as he stopped himself from walking. "And do you honestly care?" He further inquired a bit suspiciously. After previous events, he's been a bit more cautious with people. |

Thinking for a moment, she twirled her finger around her hair messing with it, "Erm... Well, yeah I care, its the nice thing to do isn't it?" Kira sounded a bit unsure, being unable to find the reason why she did. She tossed the bread back in the bag then turned her attention back to him, "I-I just... maybe.. it could be that..um.." She mumbled trying to form a sentence but just couldn't quite get there. Realizing she was just embarrassing herself she softly blushed, for real this time, "M-My name is Kira, what's yours?" She asked not knowing what else to say. |

"Sorry... I just... had some friends that ended up not really being friends. I'm kind of on edge," Whitney apologized. It was unfair of him to act so prejudice when someone hadn't even given him a reason to suspect them of ill-doings. "I'm Whitney," He introduced, blinking a few times at her reaction. "You okay?" |

"Its okay and yeah I'm fine." Kira quickly looked away and rubbed the back of her head, "Nice to meet you, Whitney." She said softly, still refusing to look at him until her face returned to her natural color. She hated her awkward social skills, for some reason it was always worse when she talked to guys or anyone that resembled close to her age. |

"I know... The leather, bandages, scratches and bruises... I look like one of those low-life alley-lurkers, huh?" Whitney questioned with a sigh. Maybe a bit harsh on himself but he did normally give off the impression of a gang-banger, at least with how he dressed. Though his looks weren't too bad. People might think the opposite were he to wear some classier clothing and give his wounds time to heal. |

Kira looked up at him a bit puzzled, "No, that's not it at all, I've dealt with people like them plenty of times and you don't give off that vibe." She smiled not realizing she might have given a little too much information. "You just look like you've been through a lot, appearances aren't everything, trust me." She assured him. |

Whitney looked a bit surprised. "Well, that's a first," He commented. "Most don't look for vibes and go straight for appearances," He further added, sighing once again. Honestly, the jacket was as well a gift from his mother; for Christmas. As for everything else... well, he had less of an excuse for those. "I guess you could say that... Oi, you been in the city for long?" |

Rocking the bag back and forth, Kira lightly smiled again, "No, not at all, I just got here today. How about you?" She asked watching the people pass by carefully, she was trying to figure out what part of the social class lived in the area and how much work she'd have to put in to make a living. She then turned her attention back to him, studying him closely, almost admiring his appearance although she wasn't sure how obvious she made it. |

"Uh... Just got here a few hours ago... Why am I running into all the noobies?" Whitney questioned, though more to himself than her. Was his mind not preoccupied with other thoughts, Whitney might have noticed the examination. So, he hardly realized its occurrence. Scratching his cheek lightly, he thought of what to say. He never really was good at speaking with women, after all, and that was when he actually felt like talking. "Uh... W-Why'd you come to the city?" He inquired. |

"That is a very, um, weird story.. I didn't want to stay where I currently lived so I left and I figured work for me might be good here so here I am but I should have thought it through before I left. How about yourself?" Kira asked as she messed with her sleeve without knowing what else to do or say, she kept looking down after examining her surroundings, she tucked the loose hair that fell in her face behind her hair once again. |
Jan 8, 2015 7:17 AM

"How is that weird? Seems pretty normal to me," Whitney commented, looking a bit confused. "You think that's weird?" He questioned once again. At her returning inquiry, he sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He should've realized asking her something like that would get her to ask him in turn. "I guess you could say I... lost my home. A good friend of my mom's offered me work here and some help so I took it." |

Kira looked up at him once again, "Oh.. I'm sorry I didn't mean to bring up something like that." She told him with a soft voice. "And why I came here is weird because I didn't say goodbye to my guardians or even pack up, I just bought a plane ticket and left." She explained, gripping her market bag a bit tighter and lightly smiling as she looked down. "But I didn't realize how bad of a game plan that was..." she said before letting out a sigh. |

"Did you have a big fight or something?" Whitney inquired with a raised brow. "Wait, do you even have a place to stay?" He further questioned. It indeed was a bad "game plan" so to speak. Sighing a that, he lightly shook his head. "That was a pretty stupid thing to do. Unless they were abusive or some other kind of jackasses, you should go back," He told her whilst running a hand through his hair. |

Kira softly smiled, "I was just going to stay at a motel for a few days and see how work goes, you know?" She explained as she rubbed the back of her head, "It was a stupid decision, they were decent people but I won't go back. I promised myself a long time ago and now I'm going through with it." She crossed her arms in protest of his suggestion, there was no way she would consider going back no matter how stupid or dangerous the situation got. |

"You're only going to regret it when they're gone and gone for good," Whitney remarked, perhaps a bit harshly. Sighing as he caught the tone he acquired, he shook his head. "It's your decision... But it's still stupid beyond belief." He commented as he shoved his hands back into his pockets. "Anyway... what are you doing for work?" |
Jan 8, 2015 5:55 PM
#33
Kira looked down for the moment thinking about his remark before looking back up choosing not to continue or stir up any more conversation about it, "I know its stupid but I'll be fine and as for my work, I'm an actor ...sort of." She nervously smiled but refused to look entirely his direction. ".... How about you?" She asked with a slight shaky voice. |
Jan 8, 2015 6:09 PM
#34
"That so?" Whitney murmured in response to her answer before rubbing the back of his head in slight embarrassment. "W-Well... I... don't exactly know..." He answered vaguely. "I mean... I know I'm supposed to act as security for the place but... Well, I don't know what the place is," He clarified. Honestly, this same friend owned the club his mother used to work at so it was quite likely that he would be working at a similar establishment. He didn't even want to mull over the possibilities of it though, as the simple idea of it brought a subtle red to his cheeks. |
Jan 8, 2015 6:27 PM
#35
Noticing the slight blush, "You okay there?" She asked smiling, wondering what was on his mind. "Security shouldn't be too hard, just cross your arms and puff out your chest. That should be enough." Thinking it would be a good idea, she did it herself for an example but failed to realize how ridiculous she might have looked. "Just like this." She said with a playful smile. |
Jan 8, 2015 6:49 PM
#36
"H-Huh? Yeah... Yeah, I'm fine," Whitney quickly dismissed. Before he could correct her assumption of how easy security would be, she demonstrated her strategy, making Whitney in turn pause to stare at her a few moments before laughing. "Y-You have no idea how ridiculous it looks for a skinny little girl like you to do it...!" He remarked through the laughter. Eventually, he calmed himself and gave her a smile. "Thanks though... I haven't laughed in... well, a while," Whitney thanked her honestly. |

Her face turned completely red almost immediately from embarrassment, Kira then quickly covered her face with both hands and kept her head down. "Y-You're welcome..I'm glad t-to help.." she managed to say as she calmed down and her face showed only a light blush. She looked back up at him once again, "Was I that silly looking?" She asked blushing a bit more. |

Still slightly chuckling from it, Whitney nodded. "Pretty girls like you can't look intimidating... at least not by doing that," He explained, suppressing another laugh from breaking out. Afterwards, he grinned cockily. "Now, if a badass like me were to do it, that's a different story," He added, folding his arms across his chest in a similar fashion, albeit not intending to. |
Jan 8, 2015 7:54 PM

Kira let out a short laugh, "Oh please! I can be just as intimidating as you like that if I really wanted to." She argued with a small smirk, "I'm one hell of an actress." Her smirk then turned into a proud smile. Then suddenly she started blushing once again after realizing what he said even though it wasn't exactly a direct compliment in her mind, "W-Wait.. you think I'm pretty?" |
Jan 8, 2015 8:07 PM
#40
"Pfft. Yeah, I'd like to see a couple of thugs haul ass when they see you walking down the street," Whitney commented with another suppressed laugh. As she became red-faced and questioned him, he paused and rubbed the back of his head. He wasn't really aware of the compliment. He just said it. But her bringing it to his attention made a small blush come to his cheeks. "W-Well... Yeah... You are pretty... Haven't people told you that before?" |
Jan 8, 2015 8:28 PM
#41
"Not exactly.. when I used to do street shows it would just be all the damn old perverts howling and barking at me.. but that was a long time ago." kira replied, lightly shaking her head in disappointment. "Thank you, by the way." She smiled looking up at him, twirling her finger around her hair playfully like before. "And you're pretty good looking yourself." |
Jan 8, 2015 8:49 PM
#42
Whitney smiled at that. "No problem," He dismissed before gaining a minor blush and rubbing the back of his head again. "T-Thanks... I don't think I've ever been told that either," He thanked with a slightly goofy smile. "Though you don't have to say that just to return a compliment... I've never been popular with girls or anything to begin with." |
Jan 8, 2015 9:02 PM

"I know that, I said it because I meant it." Kira said as she smiled, "And don't be so modest, I bet a whole bunch of girls had their eyes on you." She said as she debated whether or not to maybe give him a friendly little tease, after a few seconds she finally decided, "Oh, you look so cute when you blush, even just a little, it makes my heart flutter." |
Jan 8, 2015 9:25 PM
#44
Shaking his head at that, Whitney once again shoved his hands in his pockets. "Trust me. No girls had their eyes on me," He said with another chuckle before his face became a little redder. "I-I ain't cute and I ain't bushing! Y-Yer imagining things!" He quickly dismissed with a huff, proving he was quite easy to tease. |
Jan 8, 2015 9:43 PM
#45
Kira leaned a bit closer to him to see his reaction, "Come on, admit it, you're blushing." She had fun teasing him like this, it distracted her from her problems but its far from a bad thing, especially since he seemed pretty happy as well or at least appeared to be for the moment. "Mr. Tough guy can be cute once in awhile." She assured him with a smile. |
Jan 8, 2015 10:34 PM

"No! Badasses don't blush, damn it!" Whitney retorted with his face increasing in redness. "They aren't cute either! Puppies are cute! Do I look like a puppy to you?" He questioned as he folded his arms across his chest once again with a huff, similar to the subject of their jokes, however this time it looked ridiculous simply because he was blushing while doing it. |
Jan 9, 2015 10:06 AM
#47
Kira tried to restrain herself from bursting out laughing, " Yes, you do actually, very cute like a puppy!" She laughed, "C-Come on! You look so adorable right now." After a few short moments of laughing, she started to calm down. "Just admit it, its okay." She patted his shoulder and giggled, resting her market bag on the side of the building. |
Jan 9, 2015 10:27 AM
#48
"No I am not!" Whitney snapped back as she was laughing, however she paid little heed to it. "I am not adorable!" He repeated, though she simply continued laughing. Averting his gaze, he huffed once again. "Never!" He remarked. "I will never admit it!" |
Jan 9, 2015 10:44 AM
#49
Kira just smiled at him, "You will, I'll get you to admit it soon or later." She told him before pacing back and forth in front of him, plotting some secret plan that in her mind would be absolutely perfect. "Hmm.." she crossed her arms and continued pacing till a few moments later. "I got it!" She yelled with her sudden breakthrough. |

"Yeah, good luck," Whitney murmured grumpily, keeping his arms folded. As she circled him, he watched her suspiciously, flinching at her sudden outburst. "W-What? W-What is this thing you've got?" He questioned, slightly cautious of whatever plot it was that she had brewing. |
