Ayumu hugging Hiyono was great :D I can't help but hope she'll have a more integral part to the ending, though, like how she did with the battle with Kanone. Awww, I'm still so sad about his death :(

Otherwise, looked like things were just getting set up for the last 9 chapters of the series. I can't wait to see how it's going to end! :D

Things are really building up! I wonder how the whole Kiyotaka and Ayumu and Yaiba and Hizumi being twins and all is going to be rationalized, cuz at this moment it does seem like a huge stretch.

The final showdown? I was impressed how Ayumu managed to so easily knock Eyes unconscious. I mean even if Ayumu is smart, doesn't mean he can physically take out someone who should have a lot more experience (Eyes hasn't shown in the entire series whether he is like the other Blade Children, since he has barely wield any gun) but I assume since he was Kanone's closest friend and a Blade Child who still had many assassins go after him he could probably take people down rather easily. Guess he wasn't expecting Ayumu to pull out a gun. Ayumu has really changed. He would resort to violence now if necessary.

As for Ayumu, whatever the 'truth' is (whether they be clones or really by some long stretch twin brothers somehow) I bet he knows it now from the way he is acting. Ayumu seems to be like someone who is walking towards his death now. The hug with Hiyono sealed it, I mean Ayumu has never shown any romantic interest towards her but he realised that she's important. And every manga where the main character is off towards the final showdown tends always hug, kiss or whatever to the girl they may or may not like (since Spiral isn't about romance this is the best we can get).

Ayumu and Hizumi's relationship still puzzles me. I really like how they can both casually joke and talk to each other though, despite the fact that for some reason they are out to kill each other. It's just funny and rather unique.

RIP Kanone. I still can't get over it.

I'm still a bit unsure of how the twins thing will play out. I can't rationalise the meaning behind it at all. Anything surrounding Kiyotaka is still a mystery.

By the looks of the hug Ayumu gave Hiyono I'm guessing he's trying to see if she could be 'the person who understands him and his world...' or something like that if I remember correctly from his conversation in the the hospital. I find it a bit weird because he has shown no romantic feelings whatsoever.. so it could in essence mean nothing.

I wish I was smarter and could work it out. :P

I can't believe this doesn't have a tag like tragedy. If Ayumu has to die, it is extremely sad.
