Obviously, he will admit that he's an esper.

Yep.

I like the manga better as a whole, but I think the 1st movie had a better ending. I don't like how in the manga Hikaru finds out the truth on her own instead of Kyosuke confessing that Ayukawa is the one he likes. The manga does set an interesting scenario where Ayukawa goes to the USA for a year, though. Would be cool know what she was doing there.

I thought he already revealed that.

Am I the only one disapointed by the ending? I always thought the esper elements were supposed to be hand in hand with romance, but it definitely took a back seat in the finale. Ayukawa didn't really find out and he ended up playing it off at the end of the Island arc

It was said to be an afterthought, an element brought only to get the manga to be made or to distinguish itself, surfing on the ESP popularity wave from the 80s (just look at the TV show, reinforcing this impression by casting Furuya as the ESPer hero).

Once it was all set and coming to an end, the author probably thought it wasn't necessary anymore to reach the end and toned it even more down. Even the anime cretors decided for a grounded finale.

@SIOPAOBUN I see. I never saw that as a main intrigue/plot. It seemed it was only a way to "limit" the role/importance of the Power and let it be nothing more than an attractive element able to trigger misunderstandings and to make many events more convenient ("why XXX ?" "it's possible thanks to the Power") rather than the center of the scenario. Thus, I didn't even see those misunderstanding as revolving around what was only the beginning or closing factor (the misunderstanding were always about Kyôsuke being unable to see through things adequately or wishing to keep Hikaru as a safe way while still courting Ayukawa).

I still think it's strange. The ESP plot was more than a subplot imo considering 95% of the episodic conflicts revolved around just that. And then all of a sudden the finale just drops all mention of it even when one of the main plots (aside from knowing who'd end up with who) was telling the secret and to avoid transfering schools.
