Well, didn't expect that. Kyuubey says it not the Walpurgisnacht from the original series, but I wonder if it has something to do with it. It doesn't quite look the same, but that doesn't mean it won't end up being the same thing by the end of the last chapter. I'm still hoping for some connection between this manga and the original series.

So Kazumi's earring was a grief seed the whole time? That was a really sad flashback, especially seeing the corpse of the original Michiru. But it super convenient for saving Umika and Kaoru.

Kazumi has a new outfit now, and the cover of volume 5 makes sense now. I never thought about how technically this Kazumi never made a contract with Kyuubey. I can't wait to see what her new power to going to be. I guess i'm ok with her wish, from a story prospective. The entire series has leading up to her getting her own body, but now she'll pretty much be a zombie. I didn't realize she didn't have soul gem before now either.

I really have no idea how this is going to end, but I feel like it's going to be more of a happier ending. This series is overall lighter toned (slightly) than the original series, so I think this will happily for Kazumi, Umika, and Kaoru. They'll continue to fight the magical girl system together, but have no actual ways to fix anything at the end of this story. That's my guess anyway.
