| So instead of trying to close the gigantic gap between the anime and manga, they create a new story which will be adapted into the manga later? Who the hell thought this was a good idea? Will we ever get the Athena arc animated? Sigh~ |

| I thought I should give a little help to everyone who is confused about the timeline. I'll not give spoilers, just point out how the series is going: (Time on Hayate no Gotoku passes very slowly) The story began on December 24th, 2004. Season 2 ended sometime around March 2005. Then, there's a huge gap only covered by the manga (4 months, to be exact) And I should add that the latest chapter of the manga takes place on July 20th, 2005! Heaven is a Place on Earth (Movie) takes place on August 27th and 28th, 2005. The first two episodes of CTMEOY (Season 3) take place on September 18th and 19th 2005. (with the exception of the first scenes of ep1, which take place on September 25th) The story actually only advanced a few months on all formats. So everyone who isn't familiar with the 6 months omitted from the anime have all the right to be confused now. BUT, don't worry, because I believe they have a very good reason for all of this (at least I hope so). Nasty001 said: Whoa, what is this those two seems to be living within the Nagi's estate? | Honestly, if we can all forget that this show had two seasons (one filler) it would be much better to comprehend. And not seeing that is confusing the lot. I like to think of this as an alternative timeline presented by Nagi herself in her upcoming trillion copy-selling manga. I also didn't come to this show expecting anything from Hayata-sensei since I believe it is his first time doing an anime original, but since he did present a script, it did get approved somehow, so it has to be good somewhere. But, trying to analyze something that took him 600 or so pages in two episodes is like trying to say that the whole Athena arc will not be animated because we are not getting it now instead of this. If I remember correctly, for many, the Athena arc finally presented a lot of readers something fresh other than Hinagiku and for one reason and the other, threw a new perspective to the Hayate universe that wasn't there before. So, without going crazy, lets see where this takes us. And don't drop it!! (There is hope down the tunnel, you will see A-tan animated one way or another, even if I have to do it.) Oh, let me add a side topic of discussion; What if we found out, in the end, that this story was a distraction set up by Hata-sensei and Manglove and they actually are working on a 3rd Season. Optimistic, but nonetheless, not entirely false either. |

| i just got UPD with hayate, dammit i was soo preoccupied with other things that i forgot that the new season was coming out just over a week ago anyway the anime has been pretty good so far, hayate's comedy is just awesome, and the way they take the mick out other anime's and their cliche moments just adds to the laughter, though im very upset that they didn't do the athena arc before this (WHY DO THEY KEEP DELAYING IT!?) because right now only the manga readers who know what has happened would understand the story at the moment while other people are wondering, why are ayumu and chiharu living together? and etc this is basically fan service for the manga readers and just a bit of romcom for the anime viewers tbh but at least its better than nothing they said next week "the one you've all been waiting for" so im guessing thats hinagiku, ive been wondering where the hell she is because she is also supposed to be living in that apartment, but they could also mean a-tan...well it could be either one of them seeing as how they both dominated the fan polls with hina 1st and a-tan 2nd :D |

| I can't remember the last time someone whooped Hayate's butt, let alone a little girl. I loved his counter attack and how it floored her right away. A bit naive of him to fall for the whole "hitting a little girl" bit, when they themselves were rooting for him to show her who's boss. Overall, I loved Nagi's reaction to Ruri. She was basically "go live with the other peasants I keep on my property, and stay the hell away from me!". And the, her big sister switch got triggered. Of course, with Nagi being tsundere, it'll take a lot more effort on Ruri's part to wrap Nagi around her finger (which she's obviously after). I had a good laugh this episode, more so than the previous one. The OP is visually nice (the apple must be symbolic for the show, since it's being used quite a lot in this episode), but music-wise, I'm not impressed. The ED is just plain horrible in both regards (at least make more effort in making it look like the girl is actually signing). |

| This episode was a lot more like the old series, it was more on the comedic side compared to the first episode. I love this art style though now that I'm used to it. Also: Tama really looked amazing. Those eyes and that detail! I'm impressed! I'm looking forward to more. |

| Many people like me are hoping that Hinagiku or Athena will appear next episode but I have a feeling it might be Ruka. She's been shown but they are random scenes that don't really have anything to do with the story. |

| The 2nd episode was great! Hayate got beat up(for the first time ever?) by Nagi's self-proclaimed little sister. Nice to see Ayumu and there's another new character introduced in this episode! I liked the OP, it's refreshing without any other characters except Hayate and Nagi. Nagi's reaction to 'onee-chan' was cute. And Systema is awesome. xD I wonder if the "character you've all been waiting for" is Hinagiku o.o |
