For both the quarter final and the semi final the 2 teams with the more point get to the next match. Basically Achiga will get to the final without winning a single match and will then proceed to lose... that's kind of sad. The 4 school that should get to the final are as follow: From bloc A: -Shiraitodai (with first place in the semi-final) -Achiga (with second place in semi-final) From bloc B: -School that beated Touka's cold mode last year which was made out to be very very strong (with first place in the semi-final) -Kiyosumi (with second place in the semi-final). Like I said earlier I doubt that we will see any Saki in fullpower before the final, she'll manage to get second place but she will probably keep a low profile until the final where she will go all out. As for Achiga... well being Achiga is suffering. When they aren't getting beat up by Senriyama, they are being used to mop the floor by Shiratodai and they'll very likely luck out with second place. Also I'll like to say to those that are 'omg spoilerz': There's not really any spoiler actually... the manga is very close to where the anime is and Achiga's manga is actually much further in the nationnal than the original Saki manga. Normal people won't judge someone's strenght over any special ability since to most people this occult stuff do not even exist. So in the end the "strongest" player (from a commentator's viewpoint) is the one that play with the best digital play, which is Ako for Achiga. You don't have to worry though, the Matsumi are stronger than anyone else in Achiga but I think you can easely understand why a judge would give more credit to Ako that play a digital style rather than some people that play in a very retarded way (Which is what most monster are doing if you look at their play logically). Shizuno is like.... one of the weakest mahjong player we've seen in Saki yet. Just thinking that Shizuno will sit at the same table as Saki someday is horryfing since there's no word strong enough to describe the kind of bloodshed this will be... oh right maybe there's a way to describe it. It'll probably end up like Teru vs Kuro. Shizuno sure got some good friend to back her up. |

Here's a list of the spoilers (giving info about the manga that we don't have from the anime yet) in just that last post: We haven't seen Shizuno play yet. We haven't seen Ako play yet. | Use spoiler tags guys, I'm fine cuz I follow both manga but too much on here not shown yet. I want to see ryuuka play too, the manga is starting to drag out the rounds though so no ryuuka awesomeness yet. Lots of toki love though. Darn it kuro I think you can get waayyy stronger like ifonly you can get the dora faster or get other ppl to draw the dora instead and make other hands. |

Actually on the very last hand, Kuro is attempting to get to tenpai faster, but her major weakness is: That she can't call... At most of times. :( (She can only chi, since most of her sets are dora... :O) I feel bad that when her opponent from Kentani pon 2x, Kuro lost 2 turn to draw and discard... XD Her initial hand isn't really bad, but her greatest weakness is that she can't (or choose not to) discard dora... :/ And she often has closed hand... :x So Kuro get bullied by everyone on the table, lol. XD Damn right I want to see Ryuuka's awesomeness.... |

It should be in the same venue, I mean, they did ran into Saki. I mean, the venue is huge! With viewing area, to room with magnetic blocks, commentating area, food area, waiting room, main lobby, heck, it probably have several nap room like the one in Nagano. The Nagano venue that Saki and co played in have more than 17 competition area, and probably the same amount of viewing theater. Not to mention it's Tokyo we're talking about, one of, if not, the biggest metropolis in the world, the building is probably far larger than we imagined it to be. It's not surprising for them to not meet. I mean, I once went to a sport stadium with capacity of only 36000, I didn't bump into any of my 5 friends. |

| I came to this thread again despite saying I wouldn't. Anyway, I imagine that building being a large exhibition centre a bit like the NEC in Birmingham (look it up if you don't know what I'm talking about). That's the sort of place that would host something like this - as it seems to be a fairly major and significant event. If a high school mahjong tournament being a significant enough event to be hosted in that sort of place seems absurd - the NEC hosts Crufts every year, which somehow manages to be a significant part of the British calender despite being a dog conformation show. |

| well, after i watch 5 episode of this anime... i come to a conclusion about the content of this story, well, many people keep talkin about how fast the pace of this anime, moreover, unlike the original saki story, there's almost no mahjong playin in thsi anime until epi 4... is this some kind of joke? no isnt. because basically, unlike the saki main story, the story does not focus on the struggles the main character and her friends to be a winner, but focuses on "what happen at Side A of national mahjong event" since saki cs will play in B side. so the viewer will know what happened on side b in the national race. |
