@Hormigo
it wouldnt go that far to be "manipulative", but I would say the real reason can make Saki suffer probably go to Nyamu, other is quite decent.
this episode failed to extract the negative effect of the characters, if Saki keeps running then from what I said in the previous episode, she'll be more and more like her father so deep inside, she probably knows it, either you raise your hand to grab all of what is left or lets go of everything and you have nothing.
@Jebidor with three episodes left and the risk of being wrong, sakiko as a character is not going to have a "happy ending" as her seiyuu wanted. according to director ave mujica's statements, he is going to be opposed to mygo and this episode confirms it. sakiko agreeing to reunite ave mujica is only signing her self-immolation because she only does it because she feels obliged to do so. the lyrics of uika's song are terrible, for uika it doesn't matter if sakiko is happy or not, she simply wants to have her for herself in the cage that is ave mujica and that sets her apart a lot from tomori who does want to see sakiko happy. as far as umiri is concerned, she simply wants to be in a band, what makes ave mujica special for umiri that she didn't have in the other 10 bands she was in? no idea. Nyamu has simply given in to Mutsumi/Mortis and Mutsumi/Mortis is a way of surviving being in Ave Mujica. He concluded, there is no connection between the members of the band, they are simply caged where they will not be able to get out. I like psychological dramas, but in this anime the drama is simple fanservice, there is nothing so serious for them to continue in that spiral of self-destruction and it is a bad message. But as I said, there are three chapters left and they still shut me up. Greetings

@Myetx I think that this clearly meant that she simply returned to her “real” personality. Since the idea of turning into a new person would be a very problematic message in the context of a character with a similar mental problem.

UPD. In an interview with the 9th episode, the director confirmed that Uka's subplot will indeed be developed in future episodes. No matter how it ends, at least they do not just tease.
@RobertBobert Ok, hear me out about Mutsumi. Does she have 'real' personality?
We were told that she is natural actress and can play many 'roles' to please people around her. Which I understand is that she is very adaptable to her surroundings while does not have her own preferences.
Then we were told that Mutsumi-chan role that loves playing guitar became dominant role and that was her 'current' personality we knew from MyGO and beginning of Ave Mujica. Mortis appeared to help Mutsumi's suffering but long story short, I cannot understand why she couldn't upgrade (of create new) role to play guitar and act (and be happier as a result).
So which role/personality do you mean as a 'real'?

Sakiko didn't enjoy any of those bits, it was done out of obligation and responsibility, i hope most people didn't miss this point, even Sakiko's VA tweeted about this. A band reunion that was born out of selfish desires of each members and Sakiko's bitter acceptance. The performances are absolutely amazing btw, im obsessed with the new songs.

I can get the direction of ave mujica being the opposite of Mygo, but it has issues with pacing. This is not something would feel complete with only 13 episodes. There's a lot of details in the story and new plot points that they showed. Yet this also means there's too questions left to answer within the last 3 episodes?
@Okami_doge According to the screenwriter, a sharp change in tone was the produser's decision.

@Myetx The personality of the most ordinary person. The idea of creating a new personality would be very problematic for the story about such a syndrome in any case. In this case, the message also was that she finally found the peace and the understanding that others (through the local "Mother of Love" Nyamu) love her and she would not need to pretend anymore.

@Okami_doge So many people really did not understand the motives of Sakiko that even her VA had to explain this?

@RobertBobert > His VA had to explain it because before this chapter she said that we would finally see a growth by Sakiko's character. What has been that growth? fall again in the mistakes of the past for not I know what sense of responsibility? , immolate yourself for people who do the same? . It is true that it was the producer's decision to change the tone of the story and also said that surely this change would not like, but in my opinion "the problem" is not in the Change of tone, rather in the little development of the plot and the characters in a credible way and not only as a fservice for Edgy children. This chapter is the clear example, we do not see growth in The characters, we are simply seeing toxicity, selfishness God and self -active without more, so I am from the opinion and I see that we are many for what I read in forums, that this has to than to end disaster, like the tone that the producer chose, and Ave Mujica Arda in these last three chapters, there is no happy ending and that is why there are many people annoying with the producer. greetings

@Myetx As I understand Mortis and Mutsumi have become a whole. Like Sakiko is oblivus, Nyamu Amoris, Umuri

Timoris, Uika Doloris, Mortis lacked Mutsumi to be the real character that should always have been, but that does not mean that he changes personality, they are really now mutsumi/ mortis as a whole, but I can be wrong 😅😅😅, but I have understood so

@Hormigo If we consider Mortis as an authentic part of her original personality, then yes, she metaphorically restored her mental integrity.

Well made episode with niche references to small details previously stated on older episodes, especially to the Nyamu's apparent love for Mutsumi ('s acting? Her as a whole?) as well for the song from Uika for Sakiko, which ended up to be for Nyamu to bond more with Muuko.
I totally forgot about the interest Amoris had on her before, but we all knew how she was majorly affected since the day of Mortis' performance and possession.

I don't know, ever since episode 9's ending. I feel like something is missing.

For today ep. I still don't get it, the reason behind why Sakiko suddenly decide to do Mujica again. Is it because she still trying to find the answer? just like what's written in Tomori's notebook?

I still don't know what's missing. Ever since watching this series. This is the first time I got distracted and try to open my phone.
@Kazen_310 I feel like because of the conversation Uika and Mutsumi had at Sakiko's house; after all, Ave Mujica was still founded on the principe of becoming "dolls" (referencing to the events Sakiko had to go through with CRYCHiC, I guess?) whose lives depended on Oblivionis. They gave their soul to Ave Mujica, she probably felt responsible for everyone not feeling if after they broke up.

After watching the latest episode, my summary would be:

Ave Mujica was born as a need from Sakiko, as her previous project CRYCHIC went to waste due to family problems. This band was created by choosing its members in a "very cold" way: two childhood friends (Mutsumi and Uika) who were there because of friendship / personal interest (as of greed) + 2 other "external" members (Umiri and Nyamu). Sakiko was the only one who wanted to make the band for a heavy reason (achieving something by herself without letting anyone play the "daughter of a rich family" card). The rest are just there "to fill the gaps" on Sakiko's need.

As such, Sakiko had one idea of a project in mind that didn't ressonate with the other members, causing the issues seen in the first episodes, where Nyamu's thirst for popularity caused the "masks off" issue, and 3 out of 5 members not giving the importance Sakiko gave to anonymity, increasing the friction and disagreements between the company and eventual disband, making Sakiko feel betrayed by all 4 members, as well as falling under some "depressive" mentality of surrendering to his grandfather's opinion (that's why she leaves her father alone and goes back to the mansion).
After Nyamu's failure to get the fame, recognition and "status" she wanted, Mutsumi's "mental breakdown" (or multiple personality issue) and Umiko realizing she grew an attachement to Ave Mujica, realizing the band was providing the 3 of them something more, they've run to beg Sakiko to "reform the band again", with Uika acting as the "shackles" between those 3 and Sakiko (with Uika being interested, also).

Now, the vibes I get regarding Sakiko are that she's kind of isolated herself emotionally and she's just doing it kind of in a "professional, yet untrusting" mentality, by not investing emotion anymore to prevent herself from being betrayed/damaged again. The 4 members didn't care about Sakiko's needs, so she'll pay them with "professionalism" but with no feelings behind anymore. Ave Mujica is kind of a job for her, now.

Let's see how this unfolds, but basically, it looks to me that this band, while cool AF, was formed in the worst way possible, with no alignment between its members at all.

PS: As for this episode, I must say that the event/performance was quite good!

@ntonino The episode name refers to the Latin idiom “I hate and still love you”, meaning that Nyamu “hates” her because of jealousy of her talents, but still loves her thanks to her admiration for her talents. The classical idea of Love Hate to a person you admire, but at the same time you are jealous because of the superiority over you. In general, I do not know how it will develop further, but in general it is a rather intuitive metaphor for its envy/admiration. Nyamu also, knowing the situation of Mutsumi, wanted to show that she appreciates her original personality, motivating the latter to return to her real self over the “fictional” one. In general, there is a fairly simple logic if you think well.

@Yui_Suzumiya69 Emm, it is quite obvious that they imposed on her the revival of the group without her will.

@RobertBobert I think that Nyamu, other than the fact that hates Mutsumi (or Mortis, if we talk acting-wise?), might as well feel pity for how her mother treats her, considering she thought back about how her mother called her "scary" due to her diverse personality she has built over time. Definitely interesting how both of her and Uika were looking forward to Ave Mujica's comeback.

It's interesting to try and make assumptions over the relationship of these girls, but also kind of hard to keep up. Right now, we have Mutsumi interested in Sakiko, Sakiko herself interested in both Mutsumi and Uika (but more for the former), Uika REALLY desperate for Sakiko, Nyamu who has always built a love for Mutsumi's talent, Umiri... I don't know, looks like she's on her own at this point, or I lost track (thanks, excessively fast-paced timing)...

@ntonin I think you focus too much on the dynamics of the characters, while the main idea of the show is how Sakiko’s created group affects their central "problems" (which is reflected in their pseudonyms), working with her bandmates as puppets (which the show hints at at a synopsis level, listing what feelings are in their rock band). Given the director’s words about how he developed the concept of Ave Mujika, I would call it a kind of circus of mental problems under Sakiko rule. The dynamics of the characters is just an embodiment of that.

@RobertBobert yeah, that's probably it. I still have not understood, though, why exactly Ave Mujica was founded; I reckon from previous episodes that Sakiko left CRYCHiC, which she was the very own founder, because of the issues she was facing with her family to focus more on her career, but Ave Mujica exists because she feels like "a puppet" who only exists only under different circumstances (full moon, which possibly represents the friendship existing only under a band?).

Ave Mujica is now reunited because of an extremist dependence of each other that sequentially built after the band; Nyamu and the others did not know personally each other, yet bonded with some characters. May have Sakiko done this in order to "conquer" over MyGO!!!!! and make Tomorin suffer, as she mentioned when she showed up to ask her to reunite for CRYCHiC the first time?

I really would like many explainations over someone who knows more about these kind of lore, I'm interested on this but I barely have any understand as I have zero experience :-(

@ntonino This is purely my assumption, but I think that both shows are metaphorically symbolize two sides of young life and mental experience. A healthier and more properly treated in the case of Mygo and more neglected, injured in Ave Mujika. At least the screenwriter and director said that they studied in detail the experience of youth and youth groups to create story.

@RobertBobert that seems exactly like so — after all, I'd say that MyGO!!!!! was more on the soft side, where the characters worked together to solve their personal issues and doubts of friendships, with a sweet end (for some, which I guess it's the same reason why we still see Soyorin appearing from time to time).

Meanwhile, Ave Mujica is more about going through what is going on in the minds of each characters and their different issues (and, possibly, illnesses); this is especially true for Mutsumi. I like it so far especially for this characteristic, the curation of details for each protagonist, and how one may interfere with the other's lives.

What I've been considering of doing since a while is, due the fact of how twisting and spicy the story has gotten, rewatching both shows under the eyes of one that knows what's wrong with who, and how they might relate with the others.

Up until now (before Ave Mujica), Mutsumi was all about the "silent and talented girl" while now it feels like she's the crazy one out of all. Sakiko and Soyorin is a friendship not much talked about, and her relationship with all the previously members of CRYCHiC is something to decipher, all of this making the story more and more eye-catching.

@ntonino Now it all depends on how this season will end and how the opposition of two shows for each other will look in a finished form. The name of the next episode is even more focused on love, as far as I see. So whatever the background of Uka turns out, it seems that Nyamu will clearly lose to her in the status of the character whose main “problem” is love, lmao.

@RobertBobert oh yeah, definitely. Uika was seriously enthusiast of Sakiko, there's for sure something going on her mind that will be shown on the next episode. She's probably the one who shows the emotion of love the most between the five.

@ntonino Considering that "I hate you, but still love you" clearly was related to Nyamu, it seems that until this moment the Uka's situation was only teasing and we will really see the real completion of her subplot only right now. I even wonder what exactly they meant, since the theme of love was already reserved for Nyamu. Maybe she feels sorrow about certain event in their joint past and therefore is obsessed with the support and protection of Sakiko as a apology/attempts to fix it?

They ended up in a more toxic working relationship than MyGO!!!!!, that's quite an achievement. They should join hands in therapy because what the hell.

Finally a new song, it was worth the wait.

Nyamu was so fake initially, good for her for being the realest here.
