So I just heard about a reveal that they made, but they stuck it in one of the little chibi extras that Kadokawa often makes. Unfortunately they haven't done any kind of translation for it and the auto translation is, of course, terrible and hard to understand.
Turns out Al is also from Japan. Explains why he was always nice to Subaru.

@zkeleton Here's a quick translation. A: Brother, is your mood a little better? S: Al… Title: Re:Zero Break Time Great Water Explosion Followers (?) @zkeleton I was probably being uncharitable because I was in a terrible mood when I watched the show yesterday but Subaru washing up right next to Priscilla this episode was fresh in my mind. |

I wonder if/how Subaru's connection to the witch is affecting how the dragon blood is interacting with his body. Must have something to do with how it appears to only be affecting his leg. |

@marklebid I know, but they showed how only the leg is doing anything strange. The rest of his body seems normal. |

@zkeleton With the dream he had about the monsters yes it seems to be cooperating with him differently. On a different subject: What's with the whip? I guess he can do some clever stuff with it but feels like an Indiana Jones reference. |

That episode has the weird feeling of not very much happening, but also a tremendous amount happening. For the first 10-15 minutes, I was worried this season might be a let down, but the rest of the episode was pretty darn good.
I was surprised that Subaru fell under whatever spell Wrath cast, he has seemed immune to the witch factors so far. He was the only one who could see the unseen hands of Sloth, he is the only one whom Gluttony's power doesn't seem to affect.

@HOOfan_1 He was the only one crying so it seems he could resist it somewhat. What a first episode though, very meaty. Outro song was a banger! Going on to watch the rest now! |

I find it quite distasteful that Emilia had a chance to shine then immediately got turned into a damsel again. Does author not want to use this character for anything besides Subaru's motivation? So annoying in an otherwise interesting story. Still hoping he dies soon though. Is he even going to die? Where's his fucking checkpoint this time? Sigh. |

Episode 57 As it turns out, Al also got hold of one of the metias right around the same time Emilia picked up the one Regulus was using, so Emilia has Al relay the information that it wasn't Capella stationed at the water gate that was opened and then shut. After discussing the matter, everybody concludes that the Archbishops are pretty much testing Subaru and company more than anything seeing that if they could have simply not close the flood gates and destroy Priestella just like that if they wanted to. Then Emilia learns the truth about Regulus and what became of all his brides as they end up dead. So Subaru gives a big speech to all of Priestella as a way to rally the citizens, explaining his roller coaster of a ride his journey in this world has been, and despite not being strong that he has the mentality of a knight who never gives up. That was quite the mood swing there just as despair was about to engulf the city, but Subaru came through in the end. So with that, it's time to put together a plan of attack to defeat the Witch's Cult as they did take back the government office. With that, there's one more episode before this show goes on break until February, and it's an unconventional split-cour show with each cour being only 8 episodes long, and the break between only last two months as opposed to three, and then 8 episodes in the winter season. |

I was bracing for the speech to actually be cringey where the show just tries to spin it as if he said something great. But they really spun it hard and had me going. |

@marklebid Yeah it started out cringe, where his energy matched the anxiety of everyone but as it went on it built into something strong and motivating, mirroring the mood of the people. It seems with all this in place, he won't be dying and resetting to before this point... |

I guess that was kind of the point of choosing Subaru....he wasn't he hero everyone deserved, he was the hero they needed. I guess the idea is that some overpowered person talking to them would make them feel like the overpowered person had no idea how it feels to be scared, and all the overpowered person could do would be to say "trust me". They could relate to Subaru more because he can admit he is scared, and instead of just talking about making the people rely on him, he tells them that they need to rely on each other. |

Episode 58 Just when it looked like meeting their demands is impossible with the Tome of Wisdom having gone up in smoke when the mansion and Sanctuary were set ablaze, it turns out that Otto salvaged the prototype at the Sanctuary. Even so, there's no way the candidates are going to meet their demands. Crusch is not doing too well as unlike with Subaru, Crusch's body can't handle the injection of dragon blood and Subaru touching her causes his body to react. And then the cloaked figures Wilhelm fought are the eight-armed soldier Kurgan and Wilhelm's wife Theresia, who died a long time ago, but their corpses have been reanimated. Liliana turns out to be a quite powerful with her song as they were passed down by her ancestors. So everybody plans their counterattack as Liliana and Priscilla go after Sirius, Wilhelm and Garfiel go after Capella, Reinhard and Subaru take on Regulus, and Julius and Ricardo are in charge of defeating Lye, all while Anastasia and Felix are staying behind. And then there's the wedding as Emilia is going through the motions, but seeing that Regulus won't allow his wife to smile pretty much means they he doesn't love his wives one bit. To end the first half, Subaru and Reinhard kick down the doors to crash his total sham of a wedding. Pretty much, it's all about figuring out who goes up against whom as it means the difference between victory and defeat. So with that, the show goes on break and will return on Feb. 5 as this is an unconventional split-cour series that covers consecutive seasons, but it's only 8 episodes each half with the show taking two months off in-between rather than the usual three months. |

Great episode, but I got a lot of random thoughts. * Subaru's team has the remains of the witch? (Ricardo said all thing are in Subaru's team) * In the Liliana's song, who is obsessed with who? At first look is Al with Priscilla, but as Liliana was with Priscilla and Schurt, then one of them is the obssed one. * How does Garfiel knows the name of the octopus guy? * Lust may be in the 1st district, Greed is in the 3rd. How do they know Wrath is in the 4th? Also: The kitty crying breaks my heart. :'( So Wilhelm's wife is member of the KKK now :o Emilia looks very happy to see Reinhard :p The book of wisdom... Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee... eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhh? Really this season needed a couple more of episodes. |

OK caught up...and it's on hiatus?...ugh. I only made it 1/2 way through the incredibly boring ep 1 before giving up until I finally came back to it this week. So thoughts, geez how does the witches cult not rule this world since they are all pretty much OP? Anyway, quite the interesting insane group, yikes. I always thought Crusch lost an arm in the white whale fight? Felis was able to regrow it? Speaking of lost limbs, I thought for sure Suburu would die to get his leg back, then they pulled the dragon blood out of their ass (did I miss something whose side was the dragon on? why was lust attacking it, where did it come from?), and I get it let him grow his leg back but how did he get his shoe back? Anyway yeah I was kind of upset with Emilia suddenly going from attacking mummy girl head on to, 'oh someone put me in bed and took my clothes off' Yes It was me and you will be my wife!, 'Okaaaay' Huh? I mean get it, later she had to play along so he didn't kill the other "wives" but she didn't know that at first. And whats his name restoring a book burnt to ashes, huh?Whatever. It was still quite a ride, Suburu's speech wasn't TOO cheesy, and Priscilla is quite the badass, and again I love all female characters with a Kansai-ben so I love hearing Anastasia talk. Gonna be a long wait until Feb, I was hoping this would cleanse the pallette every week of the crap shows we got this season. :( Also Rem better be awake by the end of this. |

The dragon blood was something Lust consumed a long time ago and it made her immortal, it's just inside her. The black dragon they fought was a transformed townsperson, at first being controlled directly by Lust then she let its mind free by oversight(?) and it attacked her. His shoe is the true mystery though. |

And that leads to another question: Did Subaru gives up on Rem in only one intent? MenchiK1 said: Speaking of lost limbs, I thought for sure Suburu would die to get his leg back, then they pulled the dragon blood out of their ass Yeah, I was expecting an anal Dragon too! Second dragon tried to attack lust, but Crusch and Subaru stop it because they were just fooled. Lust seems to do everything just for fun. After a two-month break, which is a shorter break than with a typical split-cour season, Re:Zero is back to finish the rest of the third season. Episode 59 Where things left off, Subaru and company laid out their plan of attack to turn the tables against the cult, and it started with Subaru and Reinhard crashing Emilia's wedding to Regulus. Elsewhere, Wilhelm and Garfiel battle the two cloaked figures with Wilhelm taking on his late wife and Garfiel dealing with Kurgan. Seeing that Reinhard's sword doesn't see Regulus as a worthy opponent that he makes a wager with Regulus where if he can withstand one hit from him, he releases all the girls. And withstand he did as he quickly recovered from the damage from that hit with the power of the phoenix to show Regulus not to mess with him. But seeing that he's an archbishop that of course he's not going down so easily as he has the power of invincibility that Subaru needs to figure out how to to get through it. Meanwhile, Otto and Felt face off against Fye, and Otto reveals a hidden dragon to fight back against Gluttony. Then it's Julius and Ricardo against Roy. And Garfield is having some trouble with Kurgan as all of the sudden he's swallowed up by a surprise attack from above. Then Capella approaches Felix and Crusch as Crush is still a sitting duck. So with that, this show has returned for 8 more episodes as Subaru and company are putting their plan of counterattack into action. |

Well anyway should be a fun ride I forgot we were even getting this season. Much appreciated given the mostly mediocre stuff we have gotten. |

Episode 60 It turns out that wasn't Crusch as Anastasia had disguised herself as the fellow princess candidate to trick Capella, and then Al deals with the Archbishop of Lust. Of course, seeing that Capella showed up as herself before transforming into Crusch was just not going to fool anybody. While that's going on, Emilia and Subaru go speedskating over the frozen waters. Needing a hint on to how to defeat Regulus, Subaru realizes that the archbishops are all named after stars, and from how Emilia felt when she was grabbed by the neck by his hands. And as for the true nature of Greed's Authority, Regulus can stop time in his own body, having figured that out when he is told that Regulus numbers his wives. While that's going on, Priscilla engages in battle with Sirius with Liliana supporting her in the back, but Priscilla is being reckless charging in. Now that Subaru has figured out Regulus, it will be interesting to see how he counters that authority. |

I watched some youtube videos about Re:Zero this week. Damn so much drama and all about CR shit. Well, new random thoughts: * Anastasia is non-fighter that can fight pretty well. * A royal knight must have some fighting skills, even a medical crossdresser knight one. * Is Felix angry because Lust said BS or because she is right? * Al has a thing longer than expected. * Nice work doing a hole from 2nd floor to underground. Also adding rock walls. I'm sure there must be a magic for that, but wasn't the hall just below? * Subaru's real name is Wikipedia. * Nice ass EMT. * May be an spoiler: * Will Reinhard bounce on the moon like One Punch Man? Fuck, just saw a video with a spoiler * Why the episode was only 2 minutes long? |

I knew it before it started but again another 5 minute episode that was over just when it got good, pat on the back to the director for keeping all these stories going at the same time so we don't get a chance to breathe. Well on with the show, yeah Emilia's Tans get most of the attention, but her Can was nicely on display this episode. Great seeing her in action. Wait all the Bishops are named after stars? Um isn't Subaru too? Does that mean... Can't wait until next week but I know instead of concluding these fights they will focus on the ones not shown this week like Greed ( •̀⤙•́ ) (Emilia pout) |

Was it poor translation, a mistype or did Al say "you better get out of here before I die" I wonder if he has some sort of power on death like Subaru. Maybe I am forgetting something, but I sure don't remember it being revealed that he has that power. I know it's been hinted that he is also from Japan though, but Subaru gained his power because Satella loves him "as far as I remember". So does Al have a patron goddess too? |

@HOOfan_1 Japanese transcript: 俺が死ぬ前にとっとと帰れや軟体生物 "you better get out of here before I die" is an ok translation. So does Al have a patron goddess too? Well, Priscilla is his patron. |

Episode 61 Here is an episode focused on Liliana as she and Priscilla are fighting Sirius. It turns out that Priscilla has the power to have a precious item break when she takes what would otherwise be a fatal blow, and it's her necklace that one of her eight ex-husbands gave her. Liliana grew up in a family where they would travel from small town to small town to perform, and Liliana was none too pleased that they were just hitting the small towns and not going into the major cities where they would have a much larger audience, So Liliana would run away from her family and ended up having to survive on her own before ending up in Priestella, where she has since become quite famous. And it turns out her songs are quite powerful as she uses that to undo the brainwashing that Sirius put on the citizens, all while Priscilla has great control of her ability so that she can cut only Sirius and the chains binding that without harming her. So with that, Priscilla finishes off Sirius. In the meantime, Subaru explains what everybody's nature of their authority is as it was a great thing he knew what the names of the stars all mean. Next order of business is for Emilia to get all the wives out of the chapel to weaken Regulus and his power to stop time in his body. |

So it appears Liliana has stunted her growth by being a literal starving artist, too bad her mom is hot ;P Nice they got someone who can actually sing to do the songs, I hate anime when someone is supposed to be an amazing singer and they suck. Priscilla's power is pretty cool, wonder if she was getting close to running out of objects. Looks like we have to wait for more of Regulus and the rest. You know it's clever of the writer to base the power of the Archbishops on constellations but it's pretty dumb to have that connection be a part of the actual story. I mean why would they have that connection in a completely different world? Especially being based on the Latin (Greek) as well as the Arabic names. I guess there had to be a reason Subaru could figure it out but hearing him say it was just dumb. |

It was a surprise that Sirius had a dimensional storage skill. Also, the fight ended with Sirius' body in the canal, so that may not have been the end of the fight. MenchiK1 said: So it appears Liliana has stunted her growth by being a literal starving artist, too bad her mom is hot ;P Same thought. Liliana's back story was pretty weak. But that makes us know that she is not a loli, just a malnourished woman. May be the leader of the witch cult is a chunni otherworlder. |

Were those her parents that just let her go off on her own when she was that young? Even before that they did nothing to encourage her and pretty much discouraged or criticized her every time she tried to make her own music. If they really are her parents they're pretty terrible. It does bring up a stark contrast between her parents and Subaru's. Overall this episode was so-so for me since I wasn't, and still aren't, all that interested in Liliana. Priscilla really saved this episode for me. She's the one who's background I'd like to see. |

It said they just didn't really care, and when she ran away they just said "one less mouth to feed". They sound kind of like Ned Flanders' parents |

Episode 62 Emilia goes in and asks what the "wives" truly think about Regulus, and they unanimously hate him, so they will help them out anyway they can. But to defeat Regulus, his heart must be stopped, which Regulus implanted into one of the girls, and it just so happens that Emilia has it. Using Petelgeuse's unseen hands, Subaru grabs the heart and destroys it, which now makes Regulus vulnerable as Emilia hits her 53 times then unleashes a barrage of ice shards. And then Reinhard comes in and finishes him off. As it turns out, Regulus and Emilia did meet before along time ago. This goes to show that this guy is too full of himself that he doesn't see the big picture of things. Next time, it's Wilhelm and Garfield with their fights against Theresia and Kurgan. |

That was great, loved Emikia beating the shit out of Regulus. She is so cute when she's angry especially all the little noises and squeeks she was making when punching him. And damn, I know he deserved it but what a way to go. It was bad enough to be all crunched up at the bottom of a hole (that was so gross when he popped everything back into place) but then to drown at the bottom of it. What a nightmare. Also damn how close is the moon to the planet in this world? Same as ours? Rhinehard must uave been going pretty darn fast. As illogical as it was, it was still pretty cool. So am I to understand correctly from the flashback, Emilia's "mom" was one of his wives? |

In season 2, there was a flashback to when Emilia was a child (it was part of her trials to break the barrier on the Sanctuary). Emilia, her aunt/mom (Fortuna) and a bunch of other elves were guarding/exiled to some sort of secret forest. Geuse led a group of people who would deliver supplies to them. Geuse and Fortuna kind of had a will they/won't they type of relationship. One day Geuse, Fortuna and Emilia were out on a walk or picnic and they were attacked by the Witch Pandora who was accompanied by Corneleus Regulus. Pandora was there to open some sort of seal in the forest (I think it is hinted that it is a seal on Satella and that Emilia might be the key to opening it). Regulus was there to make Fortuna one of his wives. After Geuse and Fortuna started fighting Corneleus, he basically said "fuck it, I'll just kill you both" and Pandora used her power to teleport him away. Pandora tricked Geuse into using his authority to kill Fortuna, which drove him insane. Emilia ended up freezing the entire forest in anger at Pandora. |

Hmm I am going to have to rewatch those episodes as I remember parts of it but not Regulus being there. |

Episode 63 And now, the spotlight shifts to Garfiel in his battle against Kurgan, who is a hero who helped put an end to discrimination against the many-armed beings, and he had an even tougher road than the others as he had 8 arms when most many-armed had 4 or 5. Even though she's long dead, Elsa continues to haunt Garfiel. But he overcame that knowing that whatever sick romance Elsa has towards Garfiel, he doesn't lover her back and not to mention she's not real anymore. The battle ends up in the shelter, but Garfiel stood his ground to defeat Kurgan. While that's going on, Al fights Capella, and wearing a helmet actually provides him an advantage seeing that she can transform into a perfect imitation of Priscilla, but not of Al. Even though Al blew her up into pieces, she's got one more trick up her sleeve. Next episode is going to focus on Wilhelm and his battle against his late wife who is now seeing her wife's appearance as a necromanced being as insulting. |
